#Jai Hind, Jai Bharat Netaji Jayanti or Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Jayanti, officially known as Parakram Diwas or Parakram Divas, is a national event celebrated in India to mark the birthday of the prominent Indian freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. It is celebrated annually on 23 January. On this occasion, Students of classes 1 to 5 gave a tribute to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in the morning assembly . They recited self- composed poems , delivered a speech and offered flowers as a mark of respect. Teachers told the students about his contributions in the fight for the liberation of the nation and his sacrifice for the betterment of the country.

The Tagore Hall of Delhi Public School, Meerut was decorated with festoons,balloons and garlands to bid farewell to the outgoing batch of class XII.

The day was a fiesta devoted to the years spent together with friends and teachers to reminisce joyous moments and started with great excitement and merriment.

The ceremony started with the welcome of class XII students, followed by lamp lighting and wonderful performance by school band. The program propelled further with enthralling and memorable presentation by Syntec club and a variety of entertaining programmes. Students of class XI showcased an enviable talent of singers and dancers.

At last the much awaited result for the coveted titles was announced. Mantra Mediratta was declared Mr. DPS while Atika Naresh was adjudged Ms. DPS. Sohum Jain was declared Mr. Farewell and Manushree Kaushik was adjudged Ms. Farewell. Students were awarded by the Principal Ms. Shubhra Pande and Vice – Principal Dr. Varsha Bhardwaj.

Principal Ms. Shubhra Pande in her formal address motivated the students to achieve their goal and always try to be a good human being.

She guided students to look at life with awe, admiration and gratitude and to always remember that most of what they take for granted, is a far dream for many. Atika Naresh extended the vote of thanks.

All the students were given beautiful souvenirs to remember their days at school. The event was great, filled with nostalgia, fun, excitement & emotions.

As the above qoute suggests that we should be determined to learn no matter whatever are the conditions.

So keeping in mind the current scenario of pandemic Delhi Public School, Meerut organized an online workshop of Oxford, University Press, India on 26 November 2020 to enhance the skills of our young buddies (VI - VIII Students) & to make their online learning more constructive while staying at home.

Madam Rashmi was the spokesperson who encouraged students to manage their time by drafting a time table for their everyday tasks and adhere to it. She also suggested them to be in habit of maintaining a 'To Do List' and try to achieve it on daily basis.

Parents were also suggested to attend the workshop for knowing how to make their wards learning more effective. 

The workshop was thoroughly enjoyed & appreciated by all the teachers and students. Parents also sent their wonderful feedbacks through a Google Form shared to them.

To give tribute to them on their birth anniversary, Class V students organized an E-assembly. Remembering these great leaders is a reminder to all of us that they have left a lot of responsibilities on our shoulders as citizens of India.
The students started the virtual assembly by chanting “Gayatri Mantra” followed up by poems, songs and speeches depicting the ideologies shared by these two leaders.
Gandhi Jayanti and Shastri Jayanti was celebrated by the tiny tots in their own way using their creativity on paper and by dressing up like Gandhi Ji and Shastri Ji.

Online workshop on “Communication Skills for Students” for Classes I to VIII

The art of communication is the language of leadership. Having good communication skills brings confidence and allows everyone to express themselves in public. It is the most beautiful way to deliver our thoughts and correct usage of vocabulary makes it more effective. Impressive communication skills help everyone to groom their personality and to maintain a strong connection with the world.
Keeping this in mind, Delhi Public School, Meerut took an initiative and organized an online workshop on “Communication skills for students” for Classes I to VIII from 22nd to 24th July 2020 in different sessions. The Renowned Resource Person, Ms. Vinita Sareen gave some tips on basic speaking, listening, writing and reading skills. Enthusiastic activities for enhancing their vocabulary skills were like icing on the cake. The workshop was an eye opener for everyone as English is not just a subject, but a language that can help us to communicate with the world.

Heartiest Congratulations to Class X students as their hardwork has yielded 100% result, with 26% students scoring above 90% Marks and 17 students have got perfect score in different subjects. Black and White Colour Day Celebration.    Colours bring colours to life. Without colours our life would be colourless, no matter even if it is Black or white. Today, the students of Pre-Nur and Nursery of Delhi Public School Meerut celebrated The Black and white Colour day in their online classes. All of them wore Black and white dresses and played a game of searching    black and white things in their homes. It was so much fun watching children enjoying the class filling the gap of the school being closed.

Photographic Adventur

At Virtual summer camp by Delhi public school.
A photographic Adventure (Photography class) was held to make quarantine a bit easier to spend. My basic idea behind the whole session was to make students learn how to click beautiful pictures just with the use of their smartphone. The goal was to make these young minds learn and explore their options. Every session was explained with the help of a PPT which made learning more easy and fun.
Every student participated with full enthusiasm which was visible in their pictures which they shared every day. Every single student was curious to learn creative pictures, tricks, rules of photography, they were also given the chance to see behind the scene and observe how a picture is captured.
At the end of the session, a Competition was organized by their teacher "Best Smart Phone Photography". Every student participated with full enthusiasm and shared their best Picture. It was very difficult to select 5 pictures out of 39 entries.

The international yoga day was celebrated virtually by Delhi Public School Meerut under the guidance of the trained practitioner of Ministry of Ayush,Government of India on June 21,2020. This year's theme was Yoga at Home and Yoga with Family. Due to the prevailing covid- 19 crisis,the students with their family members joined the Yoga sessions virtually at 7:00 a.m. on June 21.

To ensure the presence of students as well as their parents, a message was sent by the school Management to join the session that aimed to stabilise our mental health as well as a strong immunity can act as a protective shield for us and our family members during this time. On the occasion Pro Vice Chairperson of school Ms. Shashi Singh, Director Dr. Akanksha Singh, Manager Mr. Atul Kumar Singh and all the teachers contributed in virtual yoga sessions and mentioned that how regular practice of yoga keeps us fit and improves concentration.

Delhi Public School Meerut organised a versatile Virtual Summer Camp which concludes today on 20th June 2020. The platform was a direct experience for kids to explore extensive courses with interactive sessions in many fields of interests and hobbies. In fact, attendees and their parents received professional support even to identify the students’ areas of interests.

The virtual summer camp offered a full dashboard with access to creative sessions, video presentations and more. All the activities were well thought of, catering to the needs of the students, combining utility with productivity and safety with savvy to give kids a better virtual experience of learning.

The camp gave attendees ten days of enthusiastic engagementin a window of being a kid, especially when the world is dealing with the pandemic crises. They not only enjoyed but also learned many new skills which may open a new dimension to their understanding.

Around Fifteen interesting and logic boosting activities like Vedic Maths, Hawk Eye, When Shakespeare met Kalidas, Grammar Gorillas, Number Ninjas, Calligraphy course, Online Art Studio etc. were oganised for the learners to acquire Mathematical, Artistic and Literary skills. The events were divided into different age groups, though the camp remained open for participants outside DPS Meerut as well which was taken by all with the expression of gratitude. The parents highly appreciated the work done by the school, whereas the students felt that was the best way they could have invested their time during summer break.

Dr. Akanksha Singh, the Director of school, assured that like always DPS Meerut will always be ready to go a step ahead in order to do something for the students especially when it’s about discovering their own potential. Pro Vice Chairperson Mrs. Shashi Singh applauded how the efforts made by school very reciprocated by hearty involvement of kids and their parents. School Manager Mr. Atul Kumar Singh, also thanked the entire team, participants and parents for putting up the great show together. The kids are having a lots of fun  and are enjoying these brainstorming sessions every day. Along with learning, they are picking up a good food for their brain development.

Science is everywhere in today's world. It is part of our daily lives from cooking and gardening, to recycling and comprehending the daily weather report, to reading a map and using a computer. Being "science literate" will no longer be just an advantage but an absolute necessity. Today a Career Webinar was held for students of clases XIth &XII by the eminent personality Professor Diwakar Shukla , Director Jagran School of Journalism & Communication  who  offered  a holistic view  and expertise on Career Guidance through an excellent  Career Counselling session.

The speaker discussed on how technology and communication can be used as an effective tool for career building. He added that using social media can help one to build a strong network. He also focused on the fact that one should assess their own abilities and strengths which include academic strengths, personal qualities and communication

The guest speaker imparted clear and thoughtful recommendations about various career options and latest trends. The session was very comprehensive and provided vital information to the aspiring students on how to go about the process of deciding their career.  This Counselling session was very effective and informative and helpful to the students to analyze their potential and make the right career choice.

Overall the workshop was very useful for the students to understand the need of self analysis and honing their skills while making a move towards achieving as well as enjoying their career.

The future depends on what we do in the present, surviving this Gandhian principle in  Covid-19 Era, Delhi Public School Meerut organised Online Webinar on Undergraduate Program in collaboration with Amity University on April 30, 2020 for the students of Class XI, XII for their career counselling. The main objective of this webinar was to acquaint Class XII students with future prospects in terms their higher education.

Principal, DPS Meerut commenced the program with the welcome of Dr. Gurinder Singh (VC, Amity University) and his team. During his discourse, Dr. Gurinder addressed the concerns of the students’ and parents’ to get enrolled in renowned universities and to be able to choose the correct way ahead by opting for appropriate course. He also briefed about the available courses at Amity University like Electronics & Communication Engineering, Biotechnology, Medical Biotechnology, Journalism and Mass Communication, Fashion Designing etc.

Resource person Mr. Bhaskar Bansal gave detailed overview of how one can enrol and how one can select the right course keeping his interests in focus. Another resource person Ms. Harshita gave many examples how technology empowers human resource and plays an important role in development. At the end, and interactive session was also organised to resolve the queries of the students by experts present there.

An online webinar on‘Liberal Education’ was organised by our school on April 21, 2020. This was done in association with Ashoka University. Around 250 students with 30 teachers participated in the programme.

The Principal, Mr. Shalabh Sharma extended a warm welcome to Mr. Harpreet Singh and his team.

Mr. Harpreet Singh the Assistant Director - Ashoka University accompanied by his team was the resource person who narrated all the essential elements for the Liberal education to all the participants. During his addressal, Mr. Singh told everyone that Liberal Education empowers individuals and prepares them to deal with the complexity, diversity and changes. He further added that this also provides students the broad knowledge of science, culture and society.

There was a special interactive session for the students and the teachers wherein they came out with their queries regarding the more extensive possibilities with this fabric of education.        Mr. Singh replying to the queries mentioned that through liberal education students can experience a broad spectrum of courses and they have the possibility of meandering into many streams of knowledge.

The second resource person Ms. Harshita share many convincing examples as to how one equipped with liberal education possesses extraordinary skills and can acquire competence for multi –vocations and admired the quality of queries and the standard of discipline among the participants.

The idea of conducting online classes as per the scheduled session and class timetable has proved to be successful as both teachers and students realized this experience amazingly productive .
The initiative taken on the part of Delhi Public School is being highly appreciated by the parents community who were concerned about the studies of their ward and were facing the challenge to channelize the energy of young children in the right direction during the lockdown period.

Due to spread of Covid-19,we are unable to take classes in the  school. So to connect students with studies, Delhi Public School Meerut has started Zoom classes from Pre- Nursery to XII in which students are excitedly and interestingly participating. Teachers are sharing concept notes / video links/PPTs/contents through learning apps followed by worksheets and doubt clearing sessions on daily basis with the students. This is a new learning and teaching experience for all with constructive use of this time.

A brief awareness session on personal hygiene was conducted today i.e on 11^th Feb 2020 in the activity room of Delhi Public School, Meerut. This session aimed at making the students aware of spreading of disease caused by corona virus and keep ourselves protected from the infections. An act was presented by the students of Class II to describe the importance of cleanliness and the usage of the hygiene kit in order to keep themselves healthy and physically fit.

 A workshop was conducted on 30^th January, 2020 at the Tagore Hall of Delhi Public School, Meerut by SEBI. The agenda of the workshop was make students aware about smart goals & financial analysis, basics of banking and budgeting. Two eminent counselors, Mr P. Anshu and MrBhanupratap addressed the students of class VI to class VIII.

The 71^st Republic Day was celebrated with great fervour in the Delhi Public School, Meerut premises on 26^th January 2019. The event began with the flag hoisting ceremony by the tiny tots, the Principal and the Vice-Principal. 

The special assembly started with the thought of being not a seeker but the contributor, with the thought of the day. ‘Ask not what your country can do for you, ask yourself what you can do for the country.’  A student of class II, Arav Goswami gave the message of secularism and harmony through a well recited poem to make everyone smile with a sense of belongingness.  The assembly included prayer, news bulletins and speech on the importance of National Republic Day. The students shared why and how the day is significant in the Indian history. The students also performed a special patriotic dance performance on the hymns of nation building. After the special assembly the tiny tots and students together enjoyed as they were given an opportunity to dance with their friends on songs like Mere Desh ki Dharti, and Mera Desh Rangeela etc.

School Pro-Vice Chairperson Ms. Shashi Singh, Director Ms. Akanksha Singh, Manager Mr. Atul Singh also through their speeches invoked the precious contribution of great freedom fighters and pledged to take the nation a long way ahead. The Principal Ms. Savita Chadha wished the staff and students Republic Day and congratulated them for the efforts being put up in the special assembly.  Vice-Principal Mr. Shalabh Sharma also addressed the gathering and conveyed the message of patriotism by appealing to the youth to understand their responsibility as the citizens of the country. Children dispersed in glee and excitement with ladoos in hands and glint in eyes.

Delhi Public School Meerut organized a workshop on ROBOTICS on 23 January 2020 for students of classes VI to VIII. The workshop began with introductory video clips on the subject how robots are used in today’s ever growing manufacturing industry. Demonstration program started after completion of presentation. All the students learned how the robot actually works. Different kinds of activities for different grades of students i.e. from VI TO VIII were conducted under the guidance of resource persons. Students were encouraged to try their hands on activities.

For Class IV– Simple Machine Activity was conducted to learn how we can use pully and gears to move something.

For Class VII – Crazy Floor Activity was conducted.

For Class VIII– Moon Rover, Milo Rover activities were done using program, that was related to motor and Bluetooth device which was connected with laptops in IPad. Simple Machine introduction was given using gear box car and wind milusa.

All the classes also enjoyed Frog Model Movement Activity using gears to move forward backward, this was also programming based.

Circuit Designing devices were also presented using electronics like – LED, battery and resister.

Students learned about working of various devices using Bluetooth. This workshop was a approach to the learning of Science through real life exposure, mechanical innovation and simultaneously promotes to do hands on projects on robots. Students learned about Robots and assembling.

Talented and budding orators from 24 reputed schools of Meerut city participated in the event giving a tough competition to each other.But it was ShubhiSinghal our pride who stole the show.

She came, she spoke and she conquered everyone's heart with her eloquence.

On 20th Jan.2020 the third edition of 'Pariksha Pe Charcha' was organised at Talkatora Indoor Stadium in Delhi. A total of 2,000 students and teachers attended the event, of which 1,050 students were selected through an essay competition. Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with students, teachers and parents and shared "valuable tips" with them to ensure they take the upcoming board and entrance exams in a relaxed manner.
Delhi Public School Meerut also organised for the students to watch the telecast of the same, where they got immensely benefited from the encouraging and success building words from the Prime Minister.
He not only addressed the required result seekers but emphasized that even the failure is a part of journey towards success. He gave example of the failure of Chandrayan-2, of cricket matches being lost.
He also highlighted that most important hurdle, the advancement of technology has started created a negative effect on students, not only in studies but other interpersonal relations and it needs to be understood that the excess of anything is bad. He also told that hardwork is key to success. Exams shouldn't be dealt with fear, but with patience and courage.
He  urged students to be confident about their own preparation (during examinations). To not to enter the exam hall with any sort of pressure and not to worry about what the others are doing.
He also appealed to teachers and parents to not to overburden the students with undue stress and expectations.
On the occasion Pro Vice Chairperson Ms. Shashi Singh, Director Ms. Akanksha Singh, Principal Ms. Savita Chadha and Vice Principal Mr. Shalabh Sharma also tried to make students destress and to make them understand that exams are part of life, like any success or failure is. They should keep the courage and confidence, and walk the path as suggested by PM Modi.

The true purpose of education is to make minds not careers. Delhi Public School Meerut is a nest to nurture the young and creative minds with its continual efforts to revolutionize the education scenario guided by futuristic and holistic approach. For the purpose DPS Meerut took the initiative to organize a workshop on 'ART OF PARENTING', on, 18^th January 2020. The parents from all over the city were invited to get benefited from the workshop.

The resource persons were very able counsellors from Fortis, Noida;              Ms. Pratibha (the counselling psychologist) Ms. AnushaTyagi (the Expressive Art Therapist) from the Department of Mental Health and Behavioural Sciences.

The workshop focused on the challenges faced by parents today in the world of immense technological advancement. This generation is different from the last as today children live on the diet of social media. They can not be denied the presence of the same. But how boundaries can be set, how changes can be made were communicated through methods of different parenting styles. The workshop was very informative for parents as well as teachers. The interactive session also took up the queries and doubts which parents feel that they are alone to be dealing with.

Director, Dr. Akanksha Singh also addressed the gathering. She encouraged the parents, to always be in ever learning modes, so that they can make the children learn better to become better individuals.
Principal Ms. Savita Chadha congratulated her team to be able to do something beyond the boundaries of the school, by including the parents from all over the city.

Today on 13^th January 2020, Delhi Public School, Meerut celebrated the HARVEST FESTIVAL (Lohri) with fervour and enthusiasm.

 A special assembly was organized by the students of class IX-A where in the team of students together apprised everyone with the importance of this festival. Students performed a Punjabi folk dance which made everyone tap their feet on the Punjabi music.

This special assembly was held in the presence of Rev. Principal Ms. Savita Chadda who with her words of motivation and encouragement reverberated aura of joy and festivity among all students. She told the students about the cultural heritage of the country and emphasized on the need to keep it intact.  The spirit of students was high to match the mood of celebration.         

The celebration concluded with the distribution of popcorns, rewari and peanuts.

With this mindful thought class VIII-C presented a morning assembly on the topic ‘Save Brides’. The comperes Ramanshi & Himanshu began the assembly with their factual views about saving birds.

To brighten up the Morning, Hon’ble Principal Ma’am offered the Morning Prayer in the lotus feet of the almighty. Kanishka encouraged all with an inspiring thought of the day. Assembly was proceeded by the news readers, they clued-up the gathering with the latest happenings around the panoramic world. More information about the topic was provided by Mrinalini and few steps how to save birds were also shared by Ishika.        

Samiya, Kritika and Choir of the class presented a mesmerizing musical act on the topic.  They succeed to convey message of the theme “SAVE BIRDS” through their performance. Param enlightened all by chanting a Sanskrit shlok on positivity.

Principal Ms. Savita Chadha energized the students with her words of wisdom.  She appreciated the efforts of the students. She also graded the assembly with grade ‘A’.

Assembly was concluded up by paying respect to the National Anthem.

Avni Tomar of Delhi Public School, Meerut secured third position in   Mid Level  Speech Competition organized by Transportation Department on 3^rdJan 2020. The topic of the debate was “Road Safety, A Challenge". The event was organized at Devnagri Inter College, Meerut in which district level winners securing 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rdposition participated. The event was adjudged by ARTO Mrs. Shweta Verma and Prominent Social Worker Mr. Alok Sisodia, who judged the participants on basis of content, confidence, speaking skill and time limit. Previously AaniTomar of Delhi Public School, Meerut had secured 2^nd position at the District level event organized on 30^th Nov 19. Aani Tomar will now be participating at State level competition being organized on 21^st January 2020 at Mercury Hall, Indira Gandhi Institute, Lucknow.

With the chilly morning of 24 Dec 2019, Little Santas of Delhi Public School, Meerut walked into the school jingling their bells. The fervour of Christmas could be felt in the entire Pre-primary wing as one could see beautiful decorations all around. Adding more to the occasion, the students of class IV had put an Assembly wherein they showed the importance of this festival through Christmas carols, skit, thoughts etc. Various activities were held according to the grades which were appreciated by the Pro Vice Chairperson, Mrs. Shashi Singh and Director of DPS, Meerut, Dr. Akanksha Singh who mentioned that this festival spreads the message of Love, Sacrifice and Affection. Principal,Ms. Savita Chadha and Vice Principal,Mr. Shalabh Sharma also added that such small celebrations not only make the environment vibrant but also spread the message of Harmony and peace amongst children. The entire day became memorable for everyone.

More than a festival, the Carnival season is a celebration of joy. School Carnival gives the much needed break from studies and gives the students an opportunity to indulge in different activities. Delhi Public School, Meerut organizes a carnival every year during the month of December and ensures active participation of the students and the teachers.

The school management and teachers put in a lot of efforts in organizing the school carnival. This year the much awaited Winter Carnival was held on 13th of December, 2019 in the school premises keeping afloat the spirit of the school motto ‘Service before Self’ and it witnessed immense participation by students and their parents at large.

The students began with the preparation months before the carnival and came up with innovative ideas. They tried to look for creative ways to make the event as unique as they could. Various ideas given by different teachers were discussed and the best from those were chosen for the event.

Many of the senior class students were also a part of the carnival organization committee and they worked with dedication to make this event a success. Big posters  and several craft items were made to decorate the ground where the carnival was held.

Our teachers ensured active participation from each student. A number of stalls were set for the entertainment of visitors. Stalls offering games like Shoot the Balloon, Word Cookies, Try your Luck, Wheel of Fortune, The Lucky Dice, The Crazy Parking etc enthralled the crowd.

Some of these stalls had interesting games that involved players of different age-group. These games tested their intelligence, analytical skills and eye-hand coordination. Carnivals provide the opportunity to indulge in different activities and learn several new things that are out of the box. These activities build confidence in the students. High school students are just about to step out of the school and face real challenges in life. Bookish knowledge alone cannot prepare them for the competition ahead. Participation in the school carnival helps them open up and explore many new things that enhance their knowledge.

Pro Vice Chairperson, Ms. Shashi Singh lauded the efforts of the students for the preparation of this grand carnival. Dr. Akanksha Singh, Director, Delhi Public School, Meerut expressed her pleasure in seeing the dreams of the M.P.Singh family translated into reality and eulogized the endeavours of the teachers. Mr Atul Singh, Manager, Delhi Public School, Meerut who also graced the occasion, shared the vision of Mr. M.P.Singh which has grown manifolds since its inception. Addressing the gathering, Mrs Savita Chadha appreciated the efforts of the children, teachers and staff for organising the event and urged the students and their parents to spend some time together and enjoy activities other than studies. Mr. Shalabh Sharma, Vice Principal shared with the audience his childhood memories of school carnival.

The school ground pulsated with scintillating music and a lively crowd. The carnival had something in store for everybody, be it children or adults. The stalls put up by students of various classes showcasing their artistic and creative abilities through a variety of eco-friendly products were indeed a crowd puller. A very special segment catering to the interest of the kids included a variety of rides and games. The Disco was an added attraction. An array of edible delights, raffle draw and exciting prizes ensured an unforgettable time with near and dear ones. The food stalls serving delectable food pulled a large number of people and were appreciated for their amazing dishes and quick service. All in all, the school carnival was full of fun and entertainment. The zest and zeal exhibited by an enthusiastic crowd of visitors and participants made the Delhi Public School, Meerut  Winter Carnival 2019 a memorable one.

Keeping up the tradition, this year too, Delhi Public School, Meerut organized its Junior Annual Sports Meet with the same flamboyant spirit, on 12th December, 2019. It was a day filled with fervor and excitement experienced amidst thrills, shrills and cheers. It saw around 650 participants from classes Pre-Nursery to V including the ones in the cultural programme.

The day started off with the lovely rendition by the choir to pay salutations to the Lord Almighty followed by the arrival of the Chief Guest. The chief guest for the day was Ms. Chhavi Sherawat, National Level Medalist who represented Indian Railways at world level in Czechoslovakia and won medal in the same event. Another guest of the day was Pro Vice Chairperson, Delhi Public School, Meerut, Ms. Shashi Singh. The programme began with the Principal Mrs. Savita Chadha welcoming the esteemed gathering and emphasizing on the importance of sports in a child's life. The chief guest inaugurated the event by releasing balloons coupled with some stirring marching music.

The students entered into the spirit of the occasion in a grand way with the oath being administered. An energizing display set the tone of the event mesmerizing the audience. Once the races began, the air was filled with tons of encouragement for the young athletes.

Students of classes Pre-Nursery  to V competed in the events including “Catch the Fruits Race”, “Catch the Veggie Race”, “ Collect the Balls Race”,  “Collect the Domes Race”, “Hoopla Jump Race”, “ Obstacle Race”, “Jump, Skip and Pull the Ball Race” etc.    The audience next witnessed the Relay Races in different categories. Another highlight of the day was the colourful dance performances by the young Dipsites which kept the audience enthralled. The displays made way for the highly awaited athletic events where competitiveness among the students soared through the roof.

Fun time with the tug-of-war added to the enjoyment. The games organized for the parents saw an impressive participation. The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Vice Principal, Mr. Shalabh Sharma. At the end of the day, students departed with a smile on their faces. It was a day filled with sportsmanship, enthusiasm and memories to cherish. The Director of this esteemed institution, Dr. Akanksha Singh thanked all the teachers for their cooperation and support and advised children to keep up their sportsman spirit. Traffic Department, Meerut District organised a Hindi Declamation Contest on the topic “Road Safety: A Challenge” on 30^th November, 2019 at Deva Nagri Inter College Meerut. Around 70 students participated in the competition.

Avni Tomar of standard IX-C gave a sterling performance and obtained second position, thus bringing laurels to our prestigious institution. She was felicitated by Chief Guest, Mrs. Sarojini Agarwal ( Vidhan Parishad Member) and  Senior Transport Officer, Mr. O.P. Singh. The felicitation consisted of a trophy, Rs 11,000 cash prize and a certificate.

Avni Tomar was also acknowledged at the school by Pro Vice Chairperson, Mrs. Shashi Singh and Manager, Mr. Atul Singh. Director, Dr. Akanksha Singh declared that being a good orator is a reflection of a good student. ‘Uttar Pradesh Roller Skating Competition- 2019’ was organised by Roller skating Federation of India from 15^th to 19^th November 2019 at Greeno Stadium, Noida. The competition was inaugurated by President, Uttar Pradesh Roller Skating Association, Mr. Naresh Sharma. 800 skaters from 27 districts of Uttar Pradesh participated in their respective age groups. Vedang Mudgal of Delhi Public School, Meerut won the Bronze Medal with flying colours in the 200 metre skating race, in 5-7 years age group and brought laurels to the school.

The event was contested in a befitting sportsman spirit and paved the way for selection of participants for future representation at higher forums. As such, Skating is a discipline which promotes health and coordination and is hence actively practised in D.P.S. Meerut.

The student and his sports faculty were felicitated and encouraged by Pro Vice Chairperson, Mrs. Shashi Singh, Principal, Mrs. Savita Chadha and Vice Principal, Mr. Shalabh Sharma. Director of Delhi Public School, Meerut, Dr. Akanksha Singh congratulated the budding sportsperson and asserted that Delhi Public School, Meerut does not leave any stone unturned when it comes to sports.  

This medal is testament to the fact that D.P.S. Meerut is aiming at an overall holistic growth of its pupils by giving them adequate exposure to various contemporary sports disciplines. We stand by our motto of ‘Service Before Self’.

Meerut District Athletics Association has launched its U-12, U-14 and U-16 category Athletic Meet. The tournament was open for both boys and girls; government as well as non-government schools could register their entry for the mega event. Glorifying the cutting edge of victory, Meerut District Athletics Association organised its most highly awaited programme, showcasing the talents of the athletes. The grandeur of this event is truly unmatched in the city, which becomes a spectacle to behold for all those witnessing it.

The 2nd Interschool District Athletics Meet 2019 was held on 17th November, 2019 at M.P. Singh Sports Complex at Delhi Public School, Meerut. The Interschool District Athletics Meet kick started its journey with 97 schools, 521 athletes, among which 302 were boys and 219 were girls.

The sports event was held with great zeal, excitement and frolicsome atmosphere.  The President of Meerut District Athletics Association, Mr. Ashutosh Bhalla inaugurated the Meet with releasing of balloons.

An energizing equestrian display set the tone for the rest of the event. The students mesmerized the audience with their energetic performances. Once the races began, the air was filled with cheering and tons of encouragement for the young athletes.

The gathering was then addressed by the Principal of Delhi Public School, Meerut, Ms. Savita Chadha. She thus reiterated the message of developing physical strength in order to rise to any challenges life throws one’s way.

The District President, Mr. Ashutosh Bhalla addressed the gathering, laying emphasis on the need for character-building to develop through perseverance and competition.

With their shining jerseys and young energy, the budding athletes captivated the spectators leaving them smiling and waiting with enthusiasm for the next event.

No doubt the electrifying performance left the audience spellbound.

It is all about stamina and willpower, which takes their strength and courage, as was shown by the athletes, thus giving testimony to their fighting spirit. Delhi Public School, Meerut bagged the runner-up trophy.

This is an event which revolves around sheer strength and the co-ordination of the teams. It had the entire audience enthralled as the Dipsites pulled away to victory, engaging their muscular strength to the fullest. In the end, despite all odds, the students pulled a win, with the faculties of the Sports Department of Delhi Public School, Meerut, the constant source of strength and support, guiding them all the way.

The DPS National Athletics Meet Girls (U-14)-2019 was held from 7^th to 9^thof November, 2019 at DPS, Prayagraj. This year, there were 22 schools which participated in the meet. Dr. D. R. Saini, the recipient of the prestigious National Award for Teachers and the Director of  Delhi Public School Society was the Chief Guest for the event.

Delhi Public School, Meerut, has been expanding its horizon into the sports arena. The students had prepared themselves to participate in The DPS National Athletics Meet Girls (U-14)-2019 held at DPS, Prayagraj at Allahabad and have proved as a team with a fighting spirit ignited within themselves. This attitude has paved way to the beginning of the success story.

The students bagged the 1st   Place - receiving certificates and medals. Radhika Saini of class VII bagged Gold in Long Jump as well as High Jump. Kanishka Tyagi of class viii bagged the first position in Shot put.

The coaches, Mr Vivek Malik and Miss Anshuli Chaurasia were recognized for their dedication and resilience.

Director of DPS, Meerut, Dr Akanksha Singh and Principal, Mrs. Savita Chadha congratulated the champions and encouraged the girls to keep the flag of DPS, Meerut fly high and pass  on the baton to the upcoming competent athletes. Indeed, it was a proud moment to cherish.

Delhi Public School Meerut participated in National Inter D.P.S. Hindustani Vocal Music Festival – 2019 organized by D.P.S. Society at D.P.S. Faridabad on 2nd November, 2019.

 22 Delhi Public Schools participated in the event exuberating their talents in the field of classical music. All Delhi Public Schools were the winners of their individual Zones.

 D.P.S. Meerut was declared the first runner-up in Zone-3. The competition at Zonal level was held at D.P.S. Dehradun on 20th July, 2019.

 It was a proud moment to see the young vocalist and the young instrumentalists representing D.P.S. Meerut on the stage of D.P.S Faridabad, performing with pride and elegance. Astitva Awasthi performed the Raga Miyan Malhar in his melodious voice. Anshuman Dixit played Harmonium and Sukhmit Singh played Tabla.

 The group of three students was guided by Mr. Mukesh Tiwari and Ms. Payal Sharma, the veterans in the field of music at D.P.S. Meerut.

Director of Delhi Public School Meerut, Dr. Akanksha Singh congratulated the budding musicians and enlightened them with her pearls of wisdom. Late Shri M.P.Singh was the founding father of Delhi Public School, Meerut. The foundation of the school was laid by him with the sole aim of providing quality education to students coming from varied socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. His foray into education had just one aim – to enlighten young minds for the growth of society and nation. He was a true visionary. The school is a living model of the rich legacy left behind by him. The staff and students of this institution salute the immortal soul.

Today was the one day in the year when the school organised an Inter-School Spectrum of Events in fond memory of our founder Chairman Late Shri M.P.Singh.

The objective was to remember and express our gratitude to our founder for his wisdom and ambition in establishing a school in Meerut which has with time become the epitome of holistic education. We honour our Founding Father as we reflect on the commitment, resilience and dedication he displayed to see his vision come to reality.

The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Director, Dr. Akansha Singh, the Principal, VicePrincipal of Delhi Public School, Meerut and the judges of various events. The school band presented a soul stirring melody resonating the virtues much desired in today’s world of unrest. The Dipsites mesmerised everyone  with their mystical musical and dance performance.

Students from more than 30 schools participated in different activities. The activities included Play with Shapes, Best out of Waste, Grammar Gorillas, Life o'Script, Lyrical Canvas, Cradle to Cradle, Treasure Hunt etc.

The students enthusiastically competed in all the activities, with their talent, creativity and team spirit.  The Dipsites also left no stone unturned not only to compete  but to extend their immense support in making the event a success. The feeling of pride and belongingness which Late MP Singh's fruitful efforts have imbibed was much evident in students’ and teachers' dedication.

To pay tribute to our beloved Founder Chairman Late Shri M.P. Singh on the occasion of his Birth Anniversary, a special assembly was conducted on 6 November 2019 at Delhi Public School Meerut.

The assembly began with an enlightening morning prayer by honorable Principal Ms. Savita Chadha and a motivational thought on greatness was also delivered. Shubhi Singhal, a school student apprised the gathering with the latest news headlines.

A deep and inspirational speech about Sir M.P. Singh was also delivered by a student which was followed by an enthralling Ganesh Vandana in a classical way. A melodious song was also presented by a group of teachers of Delhi Public School Meerut.

Respected dignitaries, Pro Vice Chairperson- Ms. Shashi Singh, Director- Ms. Akanksha Singh, Principal- Ms. Savita Chadha and Vice Principal- Mr. Shalabh Sharma were invited on stage to pay floral tribute to our Late Shri M.P. Singh Ji and told the students about his vision and great deeds, highlighting what he always thought for the betterment of the children and weaker sections.

A pumpkin, a fairy, a goblin can be well imagined during the Halloween celebrations. On 31 October 2019, Halloween Day was celebrated in the Pre- primary wing of Delhi Public School Meerut. Children came dressed up as fairies, witches, goblins and their favorite super heroes. They had an amazing ramp walk in the activity room and posed their best for the photo session. It was exciting to see them making different masks. 

Mrs. Shashi Singh, Pro-Vice Chairperson, Dr. Akanksha Singh, Director and Mr. Atul Singh, Manager applauded the ramp walk and mentioned that it is important to make children aware of International festivals also. 
 Principal, Ms. Savita Chadha enjoyed Halloween party with the children and shared many stories and facts related to this popular festival as it is associated with idea of good fortune.

“Diwali is the victory of light over darkness, hope over despair, and good over evil.”                                                    

On the occasion of Diwali, Yellow Colour Day was celebrated in Pre- Primary wing of Delhi Public School, Meerut on 25^th October 2019. Children came in Yellow attires and enjoyed decorating their classes with their teachers. The entire wing was filled with the aroma of candles, diyas and sweets. A small Diwali Poojan was held in the activity room where the children recited and learnt Arties and Bajans. The teachers also disseminated the importance of this festival how it should be celebrated giving the message of sharing and caring for all. Throughout the day, the children enjoyed dancing, sharing cards and sweets with each other.

It has always proved to be a blessing for Mankind. “A Science exhibition “ was organized at Delhi Public School , Daurala  on 23^th October 2019 for Prep to Grade V .A Group of students from these grades of Delhi Public School , Meerut visited Daurala to learn , experiment and enjoy the science exhibition . Science could be felt and seen at every nook and corner of the school. Children discussed various science projects and experiments with each other such as air has pressure, weight, states of matter, how light travels etc.

It was amazing to see the children explaining and sharing different facts about science. It was a fun filled day.

A Career Counseling Session was conducted under Hubs Of Learning at Delhi Public School, Meerut   on 24^th October 2019 for the students of classes XI & XII by renowned Career Counselor Mr. Love Jain and Mr. Harpreet Singh (Assistant Director outreach Ashoka University).

The  main aim behind conducting this session for the students was to dispel the doubts and qualms ,students have regarding their career. Mr. Love Jain briefed the students about the variety of career options available for students other than engineering such as Law, National Defence Services, MassCom, Fashion Designing, Hotel Management etc.

Mr. Love Jain in his address said that it is the opportune time  for students to explore career options available and finally choose and pursue the most appropriate for them. Discussions at the session centred  around making  the right career  choice and the methodology for choosing the best career.

Speaking at the event Mr. Love Jain and Mr.Harpreet Singh   advised the students to discuss  about the career choices  with parents, friends and elders  and must not intend to choose a trending  career but should opt for something  in which they are interested in. The speakers further briefed the students about various reputed universities  offering courses both in India and abroad from where our students can pursue their future career. They also made the students aware of the lucrative  scholarships  offered by universities. They highlighted the significance of exposure offered by foreign  universities and  mentioned about the criterion required for admissions in different universities.The session concluded with an interactive session .

Delhi Public School, Meerut celebrated Scholar Badge Ceremony for Classes 5th to 12th with great pomp and grandeur on 22nd October, 2019 as recognition of the students’ outstanding merit and excellence. . This ceremony is one of the most anticipated and time tested traditions of all schools, when gleaming enthusiasm and the triumphant spirit of the young scholars can be seen and felt. Parents and kin of the young scholars were also invited who proudly witnessed their wards receiving their honours. Students who were awarded scholar badges, blazers and ties for consecutive seven years were awarded the gold medal as a hallmark of true academic genius.

The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the esteemed Chief Guest and the Principal of the school. The Chief Guest for the day was Mr Ram Arj, Addl.SP (Crime) Meerut.

This was followed by a mesmerizing performance by the school orchestra. The Principal, Mrs Savita Chadha, welcomed the gathering, and instilled pride in the hearts of the parents by listing out the awards and accolades received by the students in various fields, ranging from academics to sports. She gave the message to the young scholars to keep striving so that the banner of DPS,  Meerut flies high.

The school band presented a soul stirring melody resonating the virtues much desired in today’s world of unrest. The Dipsites made everyone gasp with their mystical musical and dance performance. A couple of thought provoking poems were recited.

The Chief Guest addressed the audience, highlighting the significance of application based learning and the need for interactive classes and encouraged the students to link textbook knowledge with their day-to-day experiences. He emphasized on the importance of emotional, physical and intellectual balance in shaping the leaders of tomorrow and concluded the speech on a positive note by congratulating the students for their achievement.

Then began the much awaited Scholar Badge Ceremony. The  guest and Principal handed out the Badges to around 200 meritorious students. This was followed by the felicitation of the students in various sports events. There were certificates for students having 100% attendance in the previous academic year. The event was followed by the students performing Lavni, the Maharashtrian folk dance.

The ceremony was witnessed by the proud parents of the achievers. The Pro Vice Chairperson, Mrs.  Shashi Singh, Director Dr. Akansha Singh and Manager  Atul Singh congratulated the scholars on their success. The programme ended on a very promising and positive note with a vote of thanks presented by Head Boy, Aditya Bansal,  expressing his gratitude to everyone present.

The event culminated with  the National Anthem.

Delhi Public School Meerut participated and came out as winner in Sophian Techfiesta 2019 organized by Sophia Girls' School on 12th October 2019. In 'Web Page Designing Competition', all the participating school exhibited their creativity and talent to the best but it was DPS Meerut that stole the show by standing first.
On this achievement Pro Vice Chairperson Ms. Shashi Singh, Director Dr. Akanksha Singh and Manager Mr. Atul Singh congratulated the entire team and also emphasized that in today's world excelling in technology can take us leaps ahead of others and students of DPS are always at par in this.

With the sunrise on 15^th October 2019, the students of pre-primary section came to school with excitement to enjoy the adventure camp. A well equipped set up was made on the lush green sports complex of Delhi Public school, Meerut by the India’s most renowned company ‘Rocksport’. The entire field was transformed for the purpose.

A commando net, a trampoline stood in one corner while equipments for activities such as Burma bridge, river crossing were on the other side. The field looked inviting and the children couldn’t wait to begin the day!

Nearly 350 children in their track suits, were led by their teachers on the track field. Before the commencement of the camp, the Rocksport personnel described the activities to the enthusiastically excited children and explained why they are beneficial. The instructors demonstrated each and every activity to the children .They came forward and embarked the exercises as per the instructions .Both boys and girls displayed equal energy. In fact, there were several examples of the achievers lending arms for help to the slower ones.

The day ended with smiles and confidence on the faces of the little ones. It was an unconditional Platform for the children to overcome their fears ,learn discipline and train their motor skills for better co-ordination.

Mrs. Shashi Singh, Pro-Vice Chairperson, Dr. Akanksha Singh, Director and         Mr. Atul Singh, Manager were also in the camp to support and motivate the children. They also mentioned that such type of adventure camps are a rich source for growing children to make them strong enough to face any hurdle in life.   

Principal Mrs. Savita Chadha  appreciated and thanked  all the Rocksport Officals  for their efforts and also marked that these camps are the best source  of learning and managing life skills.

On October 11, 2019, Angel Malik student of Class 9, Delhi Public School Meerut proved her mettle at National Hindi Olympiad 2019, by winning National Hindi Excellence Award. She was also awarded a gold medal, a shield and cash prize of Rs. 3100. She not only made her parents proud but also her school and the whole district.

Delhi Public School, Meerut, chosen as a Lead Collaborator School by the CBSE conducted a meeting under ‘Hub of Learning’ initiative in the school premises with the partner schools on 10th October 2019.

Dr. Akanksha Singh, Director, Delhi Public School, Meerut and Principal,        Mrs. Savita Chadha welcomed the Guest Principals. The meeting commenced with a welcome address by the Principal.

The same was attended by the Principal, Mrs. Ruchi Sharma , Alexander Public School, Meerut, the Principal, Mr. Sanjeev Agarwal, BNG International School, Meerut, and the Principal, Mrs. Rekha Sharma, Sharpen Public School, Meerut.

The aim of this collaborative partnership between schools is to create an eco system to learn and partner with each other for self improvement.
This collaboration will expose schools to adaptation and replication of best practices and raise the standards of education with respect to ensuring quality education, adaptation of innovative pedagogies, experiential and active learning, focus on skills, Art, Sports, capacity building of teachers, holistic development of child.

Celebrating the 150^th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, Delhi Public School, Meerut organized a special assembly for the students. The special observance held was intended towards paying a heartfelt tribute to the man who gave India the real taste of freedom.

Beginning the special celebrations with insights into his life the assembly started with a prayer to the lotus feed of the god. An eye-opening skit on the most famous Dandi March incident was performed by students as it described non-violent ways to achieve almost everything in life.

Students pay homage to the Father of the Nation by offering flowers to his portrait and by singing one of his favorite Bhajans “Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram”. To commemorating, 150^thbirth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, students took a pledge of non-violence towards the environment.

Principal Ms. Savita Chadha shared her thoughts on the occasion and explained the importance of following Gandhian values in life. She also emphasized on benefits of virtues like honesty and simplicity that sets an individual apart from those who believe in the path of violence and anger.

Smt. Shashi Singh, Pro-Vice Chairperson, Dr. Akanksha Singh, Director and         Mr. Atul Singh, Manager educated the students why he was given the title of “Mahatma”. She said, ‘Mahatma’ is a Sanskrit word which means ‘great soul’. It is believed that it was Rabindranath Tagore who first used ‘Mahatma’ for Gandhi. It was because of the great thoughts and ideologies of Gandhi which made people honor him by calling ‘Mahatma Gandhi’. The great feeling of sacrifice, love and help he showed throughout his life was a matter of great respect for each citizen of India. The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.

Book Fair from 30^th Sep to 1^st Oct 2019 is being organized here at DPS Meerut. The event commenced with a General Interaction with Mrs. Archana and          Mrs. Shruti authors of high repute, wherein students were found in high sprits to meet and interact with the guest authors.

Students while interacting with the esteemed authors exhibited their inquisitiveness for Indian mythology and various civilizations culture etc. The guest authors attended to all their queries and imparted tips on how to explore the unexplored History. A large number of children along with their parents could be seen visiting the fair where publishers showcased their most popular collections.

Wide range of books of varied literary genres like fiction, non-fiction, drama, classics, memoir and children’s literature were displayed in the book fair. Children enjoyed visiting the fair and bought books they wished to read. The opportunity to browse variety of books was indeed an awe-inspiring and enjoyable experience.

This event was organized by the Library Dept at DPS Meerut with an aim to give the budding readers and writers an insight into the life and work style of the authors and   to encourage and inculcate love and fervour for reading &writing among children.

 Workshop on ‘Understanding Mathematics’

A three- day workshop for the Primary School teachers of Mathematics was initiated by Delhi Public School Society at DPS Yamuna Nagar, Jagadhari from 11 September’2019 to 13 September’2019.  .

The programcommenced with the lamp lighting by Mr. Harish Sachdeva, Principal  Mr.B.Murali, Delhi Public School Yamuna Nagar, Chief guest Mr T.P. Singh and Mr B.S. Rana, the Director of School and welcome address by Mr B.Murali, Principal Yamunagar. He gave a brief idea of the purpose of the workshop on ‘Understanding Mathematics’.

Nearly 35 teachers from various DPS schools participated in this workshop.Ms MeenaAggarwal from Delhi Public School,Meerut attended this fruitful workshop. Chief guest Mr T.P. Singh explained that the Mathematics is an interdisciplinary language that is the gateway to all the sciences. So we need to encourage teachers to make mathematics enjoyable and communicable to the students.Mathematics consists of several levels abstractions. The higher level can’t be understood without understanding lower level abstraction.

Mr Sachdeva welcomed all the delegates. He raised the curtains by sharing the schedule and the scope of the workshop. He explained that the workshop has been arranged to strengthen the teaching techniques. The intention was that whatever comes new in the field of knowledge should come first to the teachers and students of DPS. He emphasized the need that every child should develop an understanding for proper usage of the concepts taught at right time in real life situations. We should discourage cramming and encourageon the development of understanding first and later solidify it. He gave a briefidea of PISA also.

The workshop was really informative and provided good learning experience of the classroom. This was further reinforced through various mathematics activities of number grid. Everybody appreciated the workshop. Dr Rahul Taneja, an expert from the field of information and technology explained the difference and importance of trademark, copyright and patent. Last but not the least, Mr HarishSachdeva, Director of HRDC extended his vote of thanks to everyone andappreciated all the delegates for participating in the workshop.

At DPS Meerut, Principal Ms SavitaChadha appreciated the efforts taken by the DPS Society to train its teachers to teach the students at the best of their abilities.

Colours are always a source of attraction and when it comes to colour like Purple, no one can stop oneself to look at itas it is a very vibrant hue. Today i.e., on 20^thSeptember 2019, the Junior Block sparkled in purple and  it seemed as if the rainbow has given one of its colours to our little cherubs.Children came in purpledresses along with one  thing in purple for “Show and Tell” activity;they could look, feel and touch the different things in the same colour. It was fun learning for them and they would never forget the day they celebrated as to learn the colour.

An Intra class story telling competition was held in the school premises on 13-Sep-19 where in the students of class II performed meticulously,narrating their favorite stories, using puppets and pictures, voice modulation and impressive expressions. Participants won the heart of the listeners as well as their appreciations. The Judgment became difficult for the judges as each and every student performed very well. This was a platform to build up the confidence of the students to handle the stage and face the audience for further competitions.

Central Board of Secondary Education organised a skill development seminar on 22^nd and 23^rd August 2019 at St. John's Senior Secondary School, Meerut, U.P. Mr. Yogendra Singh form Delhi Public School, Meerut attended the Workshop. This workshop was conducted for Mathematics, X standard, by the resource person Dr. Rahul Chawla. In this workshop distinguished academicians discussed various    methodologies of teaching, problem in teaching mathematics and possible solution. They emphasised to bring creativity in teaching and discussed various ways to make Mathematics an interesting subject for students.

Delhi Public School society conducted a workshop on mathematics named “Sustaining Mathematics”at Human Resource department centre by Mr. Harish Sachdevaunder the guidance of Prof. B.P Khandelwal. Tagline for this workshop was “Beauty of Mathematics lies is its freedom”.

Mr. Mohd. Shahid fromDelhi Public School, Meerut attended the workshop. Main focus of this workshop was how to make teaching & and learning mathematics interesting with innovative ideas andtechniques. Resource persons Prof. A.K. Rajput, Prof. Hukum Singh, Mr. Anil Kumar, Mr. Anil Kathuria& Ms. HimaniAsijashoweredtheir knowledge to all the delegates from different D.P.S across the country. Overall the workshop was a level ahead.

The General Body meeting of  Meerut Sahoday School complex MSSC  was held at Delhi Public School, Meerut today on 07.09.2019 which was attended by Principals ofvarious CBSE Schools of Meerut.Mrs. Savita Chadha, Principal, Delhi Public Schooland Vice Chairperson, Meerut, Sahoday School Complexwelcomed the governing body of MSSC along with all the Guest Principals. The meeting commenced with a short welcome address followed by a welcome song.During the meeting Mrs. Savita Chadha, Vice Chairperson MSSC briefed about the meaningful transactions of the last meeting.

The agenda of the meeting was to share the views and participation on experiential learning developing of 21^st century skill and latest updates on School Transport Act.Apart from the above agenda several important issues on the agenda of Inter School Activities and launching of MSSC Meerut Mahaan Website were deliberated upon and with consensus arrived at the culmination point following which the official website of MSSC ¼www.msscmeerutmahan.com½and¼Logo½was inaugurated.

Search The Talent

A talent search competition was organized at Primary level at Delhi Public School, Meerut on 4^thSeptember 2019. Students of class I came in different attires according to the preparation they had done. Some sang songs, some recited poems and some acted on different themes. It was a good platform for all the budding stars to show their hidden talents and would help them to go further in other competitions.

Principal MsSavitaChadha also appreciated the efforts of the little ones and their parents and said such type of competitions and activities should be a regular feature to boost up the confidence amongst the children.

TEACHERS’ DAY CELEBRATION

‘A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite imagination and instill love for learning’.Teachers’ Day was celebrated in Delhi Public School  on September 5, 2019 with great fun and enthusiasm. The celebration began at 7 am in the morning in the school campus. A special assembly was conducted on this day.  The program was lead off with a prayer song sung by the school choir, followed by an inspiring speech by the principal, MrsSavitaChadha who spoke about the significance of Teachers Day delving deep into the contribution of teachers in a student’s life. As the speech concluded, the cultural program began which included a Kathak dance performance and a song thanking the teachers which was sung by students of class IX. The song highlighted the relationship of a child and mother and it was dedicated to teachers who are considered to be the second parents of students. They mould their life with love, affection, dedication.

A beautiful poem highlighting the importance of aguru (teacher) was recited by DakshaTeotia of XI F. The assembly was followed by an early dispersal of students .However the day was not called off yet as there were surprises awaiting the staff; a get-together of teachers was arranged at Doab Vilas . The Principal addressed all the teachers with her warm words. She thanked them for their diligence, sincerity and hardwork. 

Games were conducted for the teachers at the Doab Vilas.Teachers indulged in fun filled activities that marked the celebration. They played together creating memories to cherish forever. They reveled in the company of their fellow teachers, taking pride in their role as teachers who transform lives and create future. The teachers even hit the dance floor and tapped their feet on Bollywood numbers. This was followed by the giving away of tokens of gratitude and appreciation to the staff.  The day came to an end with the scrumptious lunch hosted by the school.

To acquaint and imbibe the love for the country, an unconditional initiative taken by Bharat VikasParishad, “Bharat kojano” Exam was successfully conducted at Delhi Public School, Meerut on 31.08.2019. This exam is conducted at twolevels. Students of classes 6^th to 8^th took part with full enthusiasm. The main aim of this exam was to make the children learn about the heritage and culture of our country which is drifting away from them due to the involvement in gadgets and self upliftment.

Principal Ms. SavitaChadha appreciated the effort and complimented the teamfor the successful conduct of thisexam. She also mentioned that this effort is an innovative way to connect the children with the roots of the country.

23 students of DPS Meerut took part in Table Tennis tournament held at Guru TeghBahadur Public School, Meerut. This was initiated by First Inder Mohan Singh Memorial Inter School Table Tennis Championship 2019. Almost 10 school, of the city participated in both junior and senior levels.

It was a proud moment for DPS Meerut, when Aryan Parashar, Satyam Yadav, Divyansh and Manan bagged first prize in under 14 tournaments. In senior category, Rehan, Yash Jain and BhavyaGarg showed their best efforts in swiping the First Runner UpTrophy. In individuals, Navya stood third bringing proud to the institution.

Principal Mrs. SavitaChadha congratulated and appreciated the performances shown by these students. She also wished them best of luck for their upcoming tournaments.

In order to scale the heights and reach the pinnacle of success, Delhi Public School, Meerut always strives to inculcate a sense of responsibility and commitment among the students with their heads held high, ready to shoulder responsibilities as leaders. The Investiture ceremony signifies the reliance and confidence that the school consigns in the newly invested body of Student Council. Donning the mantle of accountability and leadership while carrying it out with utmost dedication, they also pledge to bestow their duties to the best of their abilities.

With the beginning of the new academic year,the Investiture Ceremony of Delhi Public School, Meerut for the academic session 2019-20 was held with great pomp and dignity on the 30^th of August in a special ceremony at the school Tagore Hall. The event was presided over by the Honourable Chief Guest, Lt Col MarkandeJee, a serving officer of the Indian Army and the torch bearer of the school, Principal,SavitaChadha. It was conducted with high degree of earnestness and passion.The event was organised with lots of zeal and zest. A spirit of unity and dynamism filled the air as the Grand Ceremony commenced with the lighting of the auspicious lamp followed by the soulful rendition of theSaraswatiVandana, which signifies removal of darkness. Incessant mounting of the flames symbolizes the virtue and holiness.

The Student Council for the academic year 2019-20 was sworn in and given their portfolios of office bearers through a solemn Investiture Ceremony.The newly elected leaders pledged to work earnestly and uphold the honour and glory of the institution while they were conferred with badges and sashes by the Chief Guest Lt Col MarkandeJee. The Student Council took the pledge to hold the school motto of ‘Service Before Self’ in high esteem. The Head Boy, Head Girl, Sports Captains and the various Committee President, Secretary and members stood tall as destiny prepared itself to bring in many more laurels to the institution.It was a proud moment for all the parents to witness their children being invested with great responsibilities while embarking on a new journey as leaders.

The Chief Guest congratulated them and urged them to be impartial and honest in discharging their duties. He also exhorted them to uphold the values. He reminded them that with position comes responsibility towards themselves, their school and peers and that struggles help one to achieve heights.He stated  his past experiences in life and explained to them how his school helped him shape his future and turn him out to be a leader. He encouraged students to always walk on the correct path and be the change.The Principal also appreciated and congratulated them. She motivated the children to keep moving forward despite all the obstacles and challenges that life throws in front of us and advised them to be role models and extended a supporting hand to the Student Council for the smooth running of the school. With the school flag fluttering high and heads standing tall, the ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.

After wining milestones, one after another, Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, a fitness enthusiast is now focused on improving India’s global healthcare and happiness index.

Today On 29 Aug 2019, on the occassion of  ‘National Sports Day’ – the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, PM Modi launched ‘Fit India Movement’. The launch event was held at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi which was telecasted live, during which he administered a fitness pledge. 

Delhi Public School, Meerut remained actively involved to motivate staff and students by screening the launch event live for faculty and students.

The prior arrangements were made for the screening and comfortable seating of the students.

Sports and physical activities have never been treated as just extracurricular activities at DPS Meerut. The school has always understood the importance of sports as imperative for physical fitness, and hence has always taken it as no less than the mainstream.

The same was emphasized by our PM Modi, the strive to stay fit should not be a part of life but the way of life.

The initiative aimed at inculcating the importance of physical activity or sports into the daily lives of citizens including school children.

He discussed benefits of simple things like walking or climbing stairs. He said ‘There is no elevator to success, you have to take stairs.’ And the government has began the Fit India Movement, but all the people have to lead it. The people of the country will carry forward this campaign and will reach the height of success, where the investment is Zero in it, but the returns are unlimited.

This year, on 29 August, at the Taj Palace, New Delhi, l had the good fortune and Divine blessings, with the active support of my school children, staff, parents & Management, to be conferred the coveted gold plated Make in India, Lion shaped award, in the field of Education. I attribute the recognition to the relentless efforts of my staff and students, who have brought laurels to not only themselves but the city, as well. I humbly salute the total faith and invaluable guidance proffered by my Late Chairman Shri MP Singh, to make me worthy of this recognition.

Training Programme: Application of ICT in School Libraries

 19 to 21 August 2019

The 3 days training programme on application of ICT in school libraries was conducted for libraries by DPS society to sensitize them about ICT learning skills and manage libraries in the ICT era. Objective of programme was to give the exposure about intranet to manage information resources, Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), open sources learning management system (LM’S), Information literacy and access to  open educational resources (OER), plagiarism, social media in libraries act. This programme was attended by 36 Librariansfrom various Delhi Public Schoolsacrossthe country there were 4 sessions every day which included lectures, discussions and practical training. Each participant was directed to bring laptop, smart phone, microphones & head phones of their own.Following were the resource persons in the workshop.

• R.C. Sharma (Ambedkar University Delhi)
• MurtimatiSamantaray (Head Library NCERT)

Participants were trained about different ICT tools and techniques used for teaching learning and service areas such as OER, to design and develop entire courses on MOODLE open online courses (MOOCs), creation of webpage of the library, Google Drive as one   of the useful tools for teachers & students. Participants were also trained about active and collaborative learning followed in VLE, SWAYAM, SWAYAMPRABHA, creative commons in Youtube, Screencastify, Presentation Taberecorder  software, National digital library of India flicker photos, pixabay, sound cloud etc. This is a ninety days programme. The resource experts will continue to be in touch with these 36 Librarians virtually for next 93 days.

Ms. Vinita Kher Director CEM proved to be the pillar of strength of this workshop. ShriPramodGrover, and Prof. B.P. Khandwal were the chief guests. They motivated the participants to learn and make their libraries effective for 21 century.

Several cute Kanhas and Radhas came down to Delhi Public School Meerutas classes from Pre-Nursery to II celebrated Shri Krishna Janmashtami today i.e. on 22 August 2019.

The celebration took place in the activity room which was well decorated. The fun filled event colourfully clad children consisted of Tableaus depicting the life of Krishna, scintillating dance performances by little Gopiyas and a fancy dress show.

The event became super exciting with the dance performance by the students of class I and II on the song “Natkhat Yamuna Ke Tat Par”. It appeared as if D.P.S. had turned into Gokul for a short while where Lord Krishna is performing his leelas with Radha, MaaYashoda, Sudama and Gopiyas.

The Principal Ms. SavitaChadha lauded the students for their beautiful efforts. The programme ended with the pushpanjali to Lord Shri Krishna. The purpose of the celebration was not only to enjoy the festival but acquaint the children with the Indian mythology and learn moral values from the stories.

Delhi Public School Meerut brought another laureate in the sport of Shooting for 10 metre Air Pistol shooting championship. Guni Bhatnagar of class IX participated in this championship from 11 Augustto 18 Aug 2019 at Meerut  district  organised by U.P State Rifle association, Lucknow. She bagged bronze Medal in ISSF (International shooting , sports federation) 10 metre Air pistol team event. Principal Ms. Savita Chadha appreciated Guni Bhardwaj for all her dedication and efforts. She also said nothing is difficult but everything becomes easy if you have passion for it.

INTER DPS QUIZ - 2019

Delhi Public School, Haridwar organised an Inter DPS Quiz Contest,2019 under the aegis of DPS Society, New Delhi on August 17,2019to emphasise on the improvement of the intellect and general knowledge of the students. It was bifurcated into two rounds,the Junior Round and the Senior Round. Students of Delhi Public School, Meerut had not only participated with great enthusiasm in both the rounds but also brought laurels to this prestigious organisation.The Senior Group  added another feather to their cap as they secured the 4^th position.

The Quiz Master conducted the quiz in a very interactive way. The Dipsites skilfully answered the questions asked. Though some of the questions were very tricky, the teams tried to answer them with confidence. The questions put forth to the teams were intriguing and exciting. The audience was overwhelmed too.

 The students of DPS,Meerut displayed ecstatic spirit and enjoyed the quiz to the fullest. They came back to school enriched with knowledge and laden with rich experiences. Principal, Mrs Savita Chadha congratulated them on their success and asserted that this type of competition enhances eagerness among students.

Delhi Public School Meerut, celebrated 73rd Independence Day with high spirits and zeal. The tricolour was proudly unfurled by the principal with many tiny tots. The sheen of happiness was evident in the eyes of everyone present there.  

Flag hoisting was followed by ab inspiring thought and a wonderful speech which glorified every aspect of the nation from freedom fighters, martyrs to all those who are serving the nation to take it to the path of progress and prosperity. 

The students presented an inspiring and emotional skit which made all the eyes wet to see how a family salutes the martyrs sacrifice to glorify the cause for the nation, putting aside the pain which they suffer everyday being a family of a soldier. The choir of the school got atuned to a patriotic song to which all hummed the echo of their hearts. 

The program concluded with the principal’s address, who as always believed in looking at the bigger picture. She recollected the efforts and contributions of not only the martyrs, the freedom fighters but also of all those people who has brought country to this day. She asked to take pride to the fact that we for the first time in 73 years are going to celebrate Independence Day as one nation, one constitution. At the same time she made an appeal to not to forget the state of emergency the nation is struggling with, with floods taking a toll on half of the country and  shortage of water for the rest. She said that it’s in the hands of the children the future of the country resides and we all must understand the responsibility.

A TRIP TO GOVERNMENT FREEDOM STRUGGLE MUSEUM, MEERUT

The students of class VIII of Delhi Public School, Meerut, visited Government Freedom Struggle Museum, Meerut on 14^th August 2019 under the guidance of Mrs. Savita Chadha, Principal, Delhi Public School, Meerut.

One hundred one students were accompanied by the four teachers and the purpose of trip was to explore and to have an enriching learning experience for the students.  The trip began with lot of enthusiasm and vigour.

The students were guided by the Mr. P.K. Maurya (curator of Museum) and Mr. Hari Om Sukhla. Presently five galleries are on display in this museum. They primarily depict important episodes of the war of independence 1857, through painting, relief, dioramas and important documents and photographs. The gallery also displays postal stamps related to various themes of the freedom struggle. The first postage stamp of Independent India and the stamps released on 16^th January, 1950 are the special highlight.

It was certainly a memorable and knowledgeable visit. The things we had seen there are still fresh in our memories.

Achievements In Art & Craft Competition

Art is an unspoken language that depicts everything through a stroke of a brush and colours. An art competition was organised on 3 Aug 2019 in the Millennium Public School, Meerut in which various schools of Meerut city took part with great enthusiasm. The budding artists of Delhi Public School, Meerut also showcased their talents by bagging many prizes in different areas of the competition. The results were as follows Arnav of class X-A received first position in pot painting, Anavya of class X also bagged first prizein stone art competition whereas second position was grabbed by Aditi of class X. Even the junior students did not leave any stone unturned as their work was a great spectacle in wall art painting. They were Ojasvi of Class III and Ishika of class IV. The consolation prize was taken awayby Soloni and Kanishka of class X for the same.

Principal Ms. Savita Chadha congratulated all  the students on this bigachievement and said that even art and craft can be an important part of learning for any student.

Another star was added on the shoulders of Delhi Public School, Meerut, when its students were awarded 2^nd position in an Inter DPS Online event “Competitive coding in C++/Python” held on 02-August 2019 organised by Delhi Public School, Noida. The talented students of Delhi Public School, Meerut, Dhairya Aggarwal,Siddarth Jain and Dhairya Chaudhary of class XI left behind near about 105 various DPS schools.

Principal Ms. Savita Chadha congratulated the students at this achievement and said that it is the demand of the time to run with the fast moving world of science and technology.

It is rainy season! The first thing that comes in the mind is umbrella. On 06^thAugust 2019, an umbrella activity was organized for Junior Section of Delhi Public School,Meerut.Students brought different types of umbrellas and had a musical drill .They were also told about the uses of umbrellas during rainy season and summer season.  They were also told about the natural umbrellas like mushrooms, ozone layer with an umbrella which protects us from the ultra violet rays .They also made paper umbrellas and enjoyed colouring their own pictures of rainy season.

Educational Trip

The Day Could not have begun a better way the students of Humanities Stream of class XII  DPS Meerut Felt Knowledge on 5^th August 2019 as they were taken out for an educational trip for the subject of Geography to the study of Rural Settlement of type.

At Delhi Public School Meerut we believe in experiential Learning and therefore students were taken for this field trip so as to think out. Fourteen students were escorted by the two  teachers Mr. Rajneesh and Ms. Rahila to know about the different type of Rural settlement present in India.

             The First halt was at Hamlet called Baghavanpur . The settlement which developed before 100 years on the  bank of Mid-Gangatic canal the basic Difference between a Hamlet a village sets and its population

          The Second halt was at Shivalkhas which is a Rural Urban Area . It is a town despite it’s Rural appearance because it is population size is more than 5000 person.

       The third and Fourth halt was at Jani .Which is a village but appearance of town and city because it is notified place of BDO(Block Development officer)

     The major observation was that women folk  work  in the  farmland with male farmers  and usually male involve in tertiary and secondary activity

    The student come back laden with such knowledge  and in the presence of principal Mrs. Savitha Chadha encourage the students and promised such that educational trips will take place again in feature

An Inter DPS Dance festival-2019 was organized at DPS Eldeco, Lucknow on   2 Aug 2019. The theme was “ Women Empowerment”. This was a platform for the Depsites  to showcase their talent in the form of dance, depeciting the theme. A group of nine students were guided by Mr. Gaurav and Ms. Payal Sharma for the same. These students performed the best on the stage and the dance performance was remarkable and appreciated by the audience. WHAT MAKES A WAR HERO !

Acts of heroism are different from acts of bravery. People who are heroes go beyond what is expected of them, risking life and limb to benefit others. There is an altruistic aspect to heroism. Most people in the military are not heroes. They are, however, warriors.

It has been 20 years since the Kargil war, but the memory of the bloodshed remains fresh in the minds of the brave soldiers, who responded to the call of duty and defended the country’s borders. In observance of 20^th year of Kargil VijayDiwas,Delhi Public School,Meerut felt honoured to have the presence of the officers and the JCOs of 9 Infantry Division of the Indian Army in collaboration with 223 Fd Regiment who graced the occasion with their presentation on Operation Vijay  to evoke the feelings of nationalism and patriotism among the students.

The Kargil War was an armed conflict between India and Pakistan that took place between May and July 1999 in the Kargil district of Kashmir and elsewhere along the Line of Control (LOC). In India, the conflict is also referred to as Vijay Diwas, named after the successful Operation Vijay. Operation Vijay is celebrated in India on 26 July in honour of the Kargil War Heroes. On this date in 1999, India successfully took command of the high outposts which had been lost to Pakistan. The Kargil War was fought for more than 60 days, ended on 26 July and resulted in loss of life on both the sides. The war ended with India regaining control of all the previously held territory.

A motivational lecture was delivered by Nb Sub VedPrakas ,Sub N.C. Dobriyal Sub (honorary Lt)Kishan Singh of 18 Garhwal Rifles which paid tributes to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the honour and dignity of the country. The speakers asserted that soldiers are the pride of a nation. They are disciplined, courageous and selfless. Their life is full of challenges and they face each challenge with a smile on their face. The orators also showed the images of the cannons used in Kargl War and told short anecdotes of the Veer Chakra winners. Students were glued to the presentation and the hall was flooded with huge round of applause . The Principal 0f DPS, Meerut ,MrsSavitaChadha highlighted the bravery of the war heroes motivating the students to be heroes in their own way.  “Vijay Diwas” was indeed observed with due solemnity and dignity at the school campus.

Music is only considered as classical when it is created by an artist with an intellectual purpose in mind.To ensure that our children imbibe the Indian culture and heritage, an Inter DPS Hindustani Vocal Music Festival – 2019 was organised at DPS Dehradun on 20 July 2019. Nearly 30 DPS schools participated in the event exuberating their talents in the field of classical vocal music. It was a proud moment on the stage when the participants of DPS Meerut where invited to receive IInd Position award in Solo Competition.Astitva Awasthi of class XI showcased his talent of singing Miyan Malharraag which left the audience mesmerised. DPS Meerut ranked 5^thon the chart of group song competition. The entire group of 8 students of DPS Meerut was guided by Mr. MukeshTiwari and Ms. Payal Sharma, the veterans in the field of Music at DPS Meerut. Principal Ms. Savita Chadha also appreciated the sincere efforts made by the students to win laurels at this herculean competition and also promised that no stone will be left unturned to train students in vocal music in future.

The Alumni Meet was organized by Delhi Public School Meerut on 26June’19. Around 300 Alumni were present.

The invocation lighting lamp was graced by the Principal, Ms. Sativa Chadha accompanied by some of the alumni. The program propelled further with enthralling musical performances by the school band. The whole ambience reflected heartfelt exaltation. Alumni were welcomed by the Principal. After expressing the gratitude to school, the Alumni went round the school and appreciated the new development in terms of new constructions and additions like Science Park, Sports sub-venues, Language Labs etc. Many Alumni; Akshit Goyal, Chandni Goyal, Kaisha Mitra and Abhigyan Singh  shared their experiences how the school has helped and equipped them with professional cutting edge. This diverse community of Alumni was really an interactive platform.

The alumnus Chandni Goyal thanked the school principal and teachers for their pragmatic guidelines. Ripu Daman during his address expressed his utmost regards to the brand value of Delhi Public School saying that how it is helping him to achieve his professional goals.

The under currents of happy conversations during refreshments were pleasure for all.

The Principal during her address briefed the latest advancements of the school in field of education. She further said that the DPS Meerut has always proven itself in all the employment sectors by producing remarkable leaders    She wished everyone good luck for the years to come and blessed them for more powers to overpower the transient apprehensions and with the dint of courage and patience keep heading in to the bright future and forwarding our legacy of excellence to the next generation of students.

Aiming to provide an intense training on teaching Science at class X level, a two-day workshop on Capacity Building Programme was organized by Central Board of Secondary Education, initiated by Centre Of Excellence, Dehradun. Delhi Public School, Meerut, Baghpat Road, hosted the event. The training workshop was conducted over a period of two consecutive days, May 24 and 25, 2019 by a well accomplished and accredited, experienced resource person, Mr. N.K. Tiwari, Principal of Greenwood Senior Secondary School, Rampur and President of CBSE Schools Association, Rampur. He has been a post graduate in Human Anatomy, M A (English), PGDCA, B.Ed and MBA in HR.

The workshop was attended by 42 teachers of various reputed schools in and around Meerut. The session was proceeded by the trainer explaining the main purpose of the programme and what the trainees would learn in the due course of time, by pointing out major topics to be covered during the two days of the training.

The participants were grouped in twos and each was asked a very pertinent question,            “What is Science?”All came up with the best possible and a unique definition of ‘Science’ where as the trainer illustrated a simple explanation that Science suggests ‘Why and How a phenomenon occurs’. He reiterated that Science has to be made interesting in classroom lectures and the discussions have to be made age-appropriate as a result of which each child will become a critical thinker and not a rote learner. The objective is to generate curiosity among the students regarding this particular discipline.

Each day, the session would start at 8:30 am, and end at 4:30 pm. The teachers not only updated their pedagogical skills, but also thoroughly enjoyed the lively interactions on various aspects of the syllabus of Science and everyone gained valuable inputs of working upon the curriculum from a new, effective perspective. It was a highly interactive, productive session, truly beneficial for all the attendees, helping them to assimilate various techniques to make the teaching - learning process more creative and effective. The need of the hour is innovative methodology and the same was highlighted in the enlightening programme.

Some inspiring presentations were also showcased to sensitize the teachers on how beautifully Science can be handled and interestingly presented to students. Teachers keenly participated in group and individual activities which involved case studies, preparing lesson plans and they shared their experiences in class rooms. Teachers were given a number of handouts.

The School principal, Miss Savita Chadha, always a pioneer in the field of education, cordially thanked the resource person for his commendable effort in sharing his rejuvenated insight into various features of the learning of Science. The principal also extended a heartfelt gratitude to CBSE and COE, Dehradun for organizing such an extensive workshop. The workshop motivated the teachers, making them more confident, empowered facilitators of Science.

The objective of the exercise was to reinforce new methodologies of the basic aspects of teaching and learning procedure. The workshop was organized on 24 May’19, under the aegis of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), initiated by Centre of Excellence (COE), Dehradun, aimed at enhancing the understanding of the curriculum of Science and giving fruitful guidance to teachers of this discipline to update their pedagogical skills.

The resource person for the empowerment session was Mr. N.K. Tiwari, Principal of Greenwood Senior Secondary School,Rampur and President of CBSE Schools Association, Rampur. He is a post graduate in Human Anatomy from B.H.U, M.A (English), PGDCA, B.Ed & MBA in HR. Delhi Public School,Meerut was highly elated and glorified to have such an eminent teacher-educator amidst them, the one who has marked a remarkable achievement in the field of education.

Around 42 teachers from various renowned schools across the state enthusiastically attended the enlightening programme. These teachers were extended a warm welcome by the students of the host-school. The distinguished trainer was honoured with a bouquet of roses as a taken of respect and appreciation. Sanskrit Shlokas were chanted in unison and Saraswati Vandana was performed to invoke the Almighty so that positivity, peace and prosperity are achieved by all.

The workshop witnessed a vivacious interaction on the Science Syllabus of class X highlighting on why is it quintessential to elicit responses for teachers before delving into classroom lectures. It was a wonderful learning experience, as it motivated the teachers and helped them assimilate various techniques to make the teaching and learning process effective and child-friendly and for enhancing the teaching standard of the teachers benefit the students.

The teachers received various handouts related to science pedagogy which consolidated the experience gained through the workshop. The same revolved around active discussion between the teachers and the resource person.

The honourable Principal Miss Savita Chadha, thanked CBSE and COE, Dehradun for giving this esteemed opportunity to host the training programme in the school. The Principal was grateful to the Management for its ever supportive nature. She also extended her gratitude to Mr. Tiwari for conducting the workshop so effectively.

The participants had undergone hands-on-training that helped them to upgrade their horizons and persuaded them to be more creative and innovative in conveying their classroom lectures. The training ended with a happy declaration of again assembling the next day with more interactive and fruitful discussion.

Delhi Public School, Meerut  Celebrated The International Labour Day on 1st May 2019 with full zeal.

It started with a special assembly by class VI students to express gratitude Prayer marked the beginning of the programme. The students highlighted the historical events that contributed to the emergence of labour rights and the significance of the day in present time. The informative speech was followed by a melodious song.

The employees were presented with cards prepared by students and flowers as a mark of respect. They were also presented with goodies on this occasion.

Principal Ms.Savita Chadha congratulated the workers and thanked them for their selfless services. The assembly ended with students singing National Anthem in Harmony.

       Curiosity is the mother of invention, and if quenched the thirst of the little learners of knowing and experimenting, they will be more concerned about their surroundings. A “Sow and Grow “activity was conducted at DPS, Meerut on 30 April 2019 for the beginners to step into the world of science.

          They brought waste half-cut bottles of aerated drinks to use as pots. They were made to fill in mud and sow some seeds of pluses etc. and watered them. They were also made to learn new words like sow, plant, water, grow and were acquainted with the importance of tree plantation. They would be made to water them everyday, so that they may learn that how germination takes place. The entire corridor was filled with beautiful, colourful pots, inspiring everyone to sow, grow and live with beautiful nature.

On 06^th May 2019, as CBSE released Class 10^th result Delhi Public School Meerut rolled its name in the list of 100% result holders.

Palak Kumari scored 99%, Mallika Mathur scored 98.6% and Aditya Bansal scored 97% marks to take first, second and third positions respectively.

On the occasion, Principal Ms. Savita Chadha congratulated the students and the teachers involved in the success story of the school. She with her pearls of wisdom encouraged                         the students to keep winning all the milestone ahead with dedication and hardwork. DPS  Meerut is committed to impart quality education with a prespective to change and contribute both nationally and globally. Adding to the glory of DPS Meerut, Naman Agarwal our alumini who is presently student of ‘University Institute of Engineering and Technology’ has been awarded national award along with cash prize of Rs 75,000 for securing forst position at Hackothan Technoutsav for developing a ‘Face Detection System’.

This technoutsav was organized on the theme ‘Internet of Things (IOT)’ in hyderabad on 15^th and 16^th April 2019 in which around 14000 participants participated. 32 teams were selected for the final round. Naman and his team attained 1^st position in this completion.

It is indeed, a matter of  immense pride to see it’s alumini being acknowledged at national level.

The CBSE Class XII results are declared today amidst great exultation and jubilation at Delhi Public School Meerut  as the students once again have carved  the niche with their outstanding performance in the CBSE class XII Board Exams 2019.

In Science stream, Vidita Sharma has stood first with a laudable score of 98% following Muskan Jain with 96.8 and Ayush Goyal with 96.4 % marks.

In the Commerce stream, Ishita  Chaudhary  with 97% marks topped  while Akshat Jain  stood second with 96.6 %  and  Kunika Mittal stood third with 96.4%marks.

 In the Humanities stream, Suhani Taparia  topped  with 97.4% marks, Rishika Sharma with 95.2% marks has bagged second position and  Gopika Chawla - is third  with 95% marks.

 Principal Mrs Savita  Chadha  along with teachers showered  blessings and congratulated the students for their excellent results in the board exams.It was celebration time  here when  In her message ,The Principal congratulated all the students  and wished them success in life. She also mentioned that the rigorous and consistent efforts of the students  and teachers have made it possible to achieve  remarkable results .The Principal  thanked all parents and teachers for rendering their unconditional support and reposing unflinching faith in the institution.

Tree plantation programme was held in Delhi Public School, Meerut on 27 April 2019.. The students of class VII & VIII actively participated in the programme.

 The main aim of this drive was to spread and create awarenes to protect the environment from degrading. 

The students and teachers selected the empty places and the roadsides to plant 1000 saplings in a well organized way. In order to restore the eco-balance of the afforestation drive was taken with all seriousness.

The program further followed by students from each class planting saplings in the campus.In the group of five students each group brought one sapling. The event was a success as each student contributed profoundly for this day. Later the event was ended by taking an oath to prevent the environment from pollution by contributing little in our daily life.

A motivational workshop was organised at DPS Meerut on 27 April 2019 by Oxford University Press. The resource person was Mr Rajan Arora ,Masters in Management and pursuing his P.hd. The resource person started with  an energising activity of exchanging the shoes with each other among the teachers. This was basically for the teachers to understand the child’s psychology and his needs. He also emphasised to be patient with the children and channelise their thoughts. The teachers also learnt how to identify various multiple intelligences and cater them accordingly. Importance of life skills was also taught and to supply them to the students in the classrooms for their better social and emotional development.

The principal ,Mrs Savita Chadha who has always been in support for promoting teachers with these kinds of activities .She mentioned that if teachers are well motivated ,then the students will themselves be self -reliant and confident.

Dance is a source of recreation and a good exercise for the body. The stage came alive when the students of Pre-primary section staged spectacular dances in a dance competition held on 26^th  April 2019. The aura was filled with melodious songs. Young movers and shakers were thrilled to be a part of colourful, vibrant and energizing event. Different dance forms were witnessed by the audience and the judges had a hard time giving the judgments.

The principal, Ms Savita Chadha applauded the children for their efforts and mentioned that these kinds of competitions provide a vital platform to help identifying the hidden talents and for honing the skills of the students in order to groom them as confident beings.

A workshop of school librarians was organized by CBSE. Centre of Excellence at DPS Dehradun. Almost 150 librarians from various CBSE school of different cities participated in the workshop. Workshop was started with a wonderful presentation of dance and song by the students and teachers of DPS Dehradun. Mr. B.M.Singh was the resource person, along with him other delegates from CBSE were also present. It was very informative and interactive session. Many thing like staff formula, Qualities, Qualification and status of librarian in CBSE schools were discounted. More emphasis was on how to inculrate reading habits among the students in this age of internet. Many ideas were shared. Book Selection committee should always include students, Students should be provided with latest information about their subjects and online help to learn better. They should be taught to use library in on effective way. After lunch in IInd session each one was given on assignment and suggestion were asked to improve school libraries. At the end of the workshop everyone was awarded with a certificate and group photograph was clicked. Overall it was great learning experience.

Kindergarten section of Delhi Public School, Meerut organized different & creative activities to celebrate ‘Earth Day’ on 22 April’ 2019. Different activities like ‘Say no to poly bags, Tree plantation drive, Visit to the herbal garden etc. Were organized for students to drill in the concept of environmental preservation. Students were made to realize that this Earth is a beautiful gift and it is their prime duty to be good caretakers of this Earth.

The Principal Ms. Savita Chadha motivated the students to plant more and more trees and enhanced their knowledge about various medicinal plants.

For such valuable experiences, a holistic learning programme has been designed by the school. Proving the efficacy of the school’s academic fabric, Aditya Rathi has qualified the second level of SMTE (Science and Maths Talent Search Examination) held in November-December 2018. The top ranked 121 students have made it to the camp this year and they are invited to attend a Six -day Enrichment Camp scheduled from Monday, 20^th  May to Saturday, 25^th May, 2019 (6 days) at Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, New Delhi. Aditya has bagged the 104^th Inter DPS Rank with 64 Marks.

During a conversation with the Principal, Ms. Savita Chadha, Aditya thanked her and the teachers for always devising the innovative ideas for the students that enable them to deliver their best not only in internal examination but also the externals, offering vocational acumen to the students.

On 13^th February’19, Delhi Public School, Meerut was festooned with high spirits and over whelming emotions to bid farewell to class XII batch of 2018-19.

Owing to the tradition & culture the programme commenced with “Hawan” be seeking almighty’s blessing for upcoming Board Exams and students better future. School Head Boy, Aviral Bansal and Head Girl, Rupali gave traditional welcome to all the students, Principal Ms. Savita Chadha lighted the lamp to fill the aura with auspiciousness and merriment to follow. 

Class XI students gave various performances like Group Dance, Rap Songs, School Band and Drama for the entertainment of the seniors.

At last the much awaited result for the coveted titles was announced. Dev Bansal & Drone Teotia won the title of Mr. DPS, whereas Vidita Sharma was given the title of Ms. DPS.

Mr. Farewell & Ms. Farewell honour was given to Harshit Garg and Falguni Garg respectively. 

Principal Ms. Savita Chadha in her address, she motivated the students to do well in Board Exams and in life ahead and always try to be a good human. She said it’s not an end but a beginning of their life in real world where they must try to live with the sense of responsibility and confidence.

Taekwondo Open Championship was organised on 03^rd February 2019 in Fujera city of United Arab Emirates in Sheikh Zayed Sports Complex. In the championship Delhi Public School Meerut 09^th class student Bandhvi Vats participated and won Bronze Medal for the country.

Her coach, Mr. Punendra Jha reported that Bandhvi was youngest of 30 players selected from all over the country. Bandhvi made the country proud by winning Bronze in Junior Girls under 59 kg category.

The championship was organised by International Shotokan Karate Union- India on 30^th & 31^st December 2018, in which many countries like Algeria, Sri Lanka, Kurdistan, Bangladesh, Iran etc. participated.

Pratham Maheshwari participate in KUMITE event (45kg group) and achieved second position with the score of 1-0, 1-0, 3-1 in three rounds. He not only made his school proud but also raised the name of the city Meerut at international platform.

The Principal, Ms. Savita Chadha paid tribute to the divine soul by putting garlands around his picture. A special assembly was held where in the students, faculties and every other living soul paid their condolences by two minute silence.

The Principal addressed the students & encouraged them to take inspiration from Shri Gandhi’s life span.

She further advised students to follow the footsteps of Gandhi Ji as far as possible as a soul like him is born once in a millennium. One should feel privileged on sharing the homeland with him.

With less than a month to go for the class 10^th & 12^th examinations Mr. Modi discussed ways to handle the exam stress. Mr. Modi Ji emphasized that its important to understand every child’s strength.

He advised the students to aim big in life but do not get carried away in the process and also to remember that anything that challenges us polishes us too. So students must prepare themselves to face the challenges as a part of life not as an end of life.

He also made a appeal to the parents to not to burden their children with unrealistic expectations leading to stress. Taking exams in spirit and encouragement can lead to better performance.

After the session Principal Ms. Savita Chadha also addressed the students and told them to take inspiration from our honourable Prime Minister to learn to keep the student in you alive all your life. Learning cannot be reduced to exams only. Its a lifelong process. To face all the challenges one must equip himself with confidence, determination and truth. Also, to score good, its important to remain happy & to focus on present, not on past or future.

Two students from Delhi Public School, Meerut namely Akshat Jain and Lavan Jain participated in the National Level Commerce Wizard Competition organized annually by ICAI (Institute of Chartered Accountancy of India).

The recognition that the duo gained is not only an achievement for Delhi Public School, Meerut but of the whole city, Meerut as along with numerous schools of Delhi, NCR only Delhi Public School, Meerut took part in the competition from the city. The two performed exemplary in the event. 

On this glorious day the Principal, Ms. Savita Chadha congratulated the students for their hard work and Mr. Shivam Tara for motivating the students as well as guiding them towards this much awaited acknowledgement. She wished both the students a successful and flourished future ahead.

The 70^th Republic Day was celebrated with great fervour in the Delhi Public School, Meerut premises  on 26^th January,2019.

The event began with the flag hoisting from the tiny tots and the Principal. The special assembly included prayer, news bulletins and speech on the importance of National Republic Day. The students share why and how the day is significant in the Indian history.

The students also performed a special patriotic dance performance in the hymns of nation building.

After the special assembly the tiny tots and students together enjoyed as they were given an opportunity to dance with their friends on songs like Mere Desh ki Dharti, and Mera Desh Rangeela etc.

The Principal, Ms. Savita Chadha wished the staff and students Republic Day and congratulated them for the efforts put up in the special assembly.

Children dispersed in glee and excitement with ladoos in hands and glint in eyes.

19^th January 2019, marks a red-letter day in the history of Delhi Public School, Meerut as the result of JEE mains examination was announced. For every individual being of DPS, the result brought waves of happiness and proud.

36% of the total appeared students passed the exam with flying colours.

The following three students scored overwhelming percentile:

The Principal, Ms. Savita Chadha was head over heels in enthusiasm. She further added that the DPSites are not only subjective in their learning approach but also realistic and creative. They are the true torch bearers for a bright and radiating future.

“Go Green with Green Colour”

On 11 January’19, the kindergarten section of Delhi Public School, Meerut & Durala Branch looked green everywhere as the students came in green attires to celebrate green colour day.

The classrooms too were decorated with green things to welcome the children. As a part of the colour day, they were made to plant saplings of various plants in the school premises. They were made to eat and learn the names of various green vegetables sent by the parents for lunch. Paper puppets made with green coloured sheets were also shown and given to the children to drill in the concept thoroughly.

Principal, Ms. Savita Chadha, shared with students that Mother Nature has blessed us with all the greenery around. She also appreciated the little children learning as well as enjoying the activities.

Inter DPS National Heritage festival was held on 23.12.18 at DPS Noida. DPS Meerut participated in all four activities. Extraordinary talent was displayed by the students in the different activities. Students from Delhi Public School, Meerut exhibited their talent and creativity through their role in the conservation and preservation of their natural, cultural and living heritage which was highly appreciated and recommended by people. Performance of DPS Meerut was appreciated by all. Activities were as follows:

1. AADI SANSKRITI- In this activity our 15 students participated with zeal and enthusiasm. And the Names of the participants were -Devansh, Tushar, Sanket, Pratham, sambhav, Aditya, Visharad, Manan, Niharika, Aditi, Mahi, Pakhi, Manya, shweta, Avni, Shubhi.
2. AADI SHILP- This activity was created by the following students: Arnav, Anavya.
3. AADI RACHNA- This activity was submitted on 19^th 18. Participants were: Vedanshi, Ishita
4. INTER DPS NATIONAL ART EXHIBITION: In this activity was submitted on 19^th 18. Paintings of DPS were most appreciated. Participants were: Angel, Ayush  Kashvi, Bhavya Jain.

A capacity building program on Mathematics was conducted by Dewan Public School, Meerut for class X for 02 days i.e. 21^st & 22^nd December 2018. Mr. Yogendra Singh & Mr. Shahid attended the workshop on behalf of Delhi Public School, Meerut. In the workshop many conceptual topics were taught by the resource person Mr. Anurodh Chitra. The main emphasis was on teaching basic maths with new innovative ideas which can ignite the mind of students.

The focus was on teaching by costructivity in which teacher has to ask the students to prepare the topic a day before which will be discussed the next day. By this teachers can enhance the learning capabilities of the students. Various innovative ideas were shared by the resource person and other experienced teachers. It was overall a great experience & the teachers acquired deep understanding of the applicability of the subject. The teachers look forward to such workshops as it will help them to improve with ever changing trends in the field of education.

Principal, Ms. Savita Chadha always takes such initiatives to make the faculty involved in such ventures for the overall development of teachers which ultimately benefit students in long run.

On 24^th December’18, the Christmassy spirit crawled in the premises of Delhi Public School, Meerut as the school hosted the Herculean Annual Sports Day Junior - 2018.  The message of a fit mind and a fit body was rendered in the hearts of the tiny tots of both Delhi Public School, Meerut as well as Daurala Branch. The day was nothing less than a Christmas present for the students. 

The day was brimmed with rainbow of events including races and relays performed by aww-inspiring students from classes Pre-Nursery to Fifth. 

The colossal event witnessed the presence of great and eminent souls as a part of their guest panel. Mr . Narendra Pal Chauhan, Joint Secretary, Indian Weightlifting Federation was the Chief Guest for the event. Being a sportsperson himself he was amazed at the spectrum of events displayed in the sports ground of Delhi Public School, Meerut. He appreciated the facilities being provided by the institution in order to ignite the spirit of sports in every individual student. He gave the audience the information regarding the “Khelo India Youth Imitative” and further said if even one child from DPS makes up to either national or international level in the world of sports he would consider his visit worthy and fortunate.

The sports days commenced with the tradition of releasing the balloon in the air by the guests. It is marked as a symbol of hope and strength followed by a musical performance by the talented and grand choir of DPS, Meerut. The vibrant and energetic tiny tots left the audiences gaping with bewilderment with their sheer performance sprinkled with innocence. The show hosted a plethora of mind boggling and interesting plethora of events such as: banana race, coconut race, sow the plants, tug of war, collect the cones, hoopla drills, mind your steps, collect the balls, baton race and varied drills on spectacular numbers such as ‘School Chale Hum’.

For the students the parent’s race was the most interesting event. They lauded endearingly on seeing their mother and father coordinating and matching steps in Mind your steps race. 

The Guest of Honour, Mr. Anu Kumar in his addressable speech encouraged the audience towards the significance of sports. He further encouraged the parents to motivate their children to actively participate in sports not only to win medals but to initiate a healthy and hearty life ahead. He shared how being a sportsman sets you apart from others. 

The parachute drill was undoubtedly the show stopper of the whole event. The drill stole away the hearts of every single being in the premises. 

In the prize distribution ceremony the winners were felicitated by the Chief Guest, Guests of Honour and the Principal. The attempts and hard work was appreciated and praised by the dignitaries. The list of the winners along with their respective events is mentioned below. 

The Principal, Mrs. Savita Chadha shared the life of the “Flying Sikh” with all the dear and little souls. She added how mere jogging has kept him away from diseases from the past 90 years. She advised the dear parents to take advantage of all the facilities provided by the school in the field of sports and not letting him addicted to their smart phones. 

To keep the Christmas spirit alive, Santa Claus too came to visit the students and together they had a gala time. 

Eventually the event was concluded by singing the national anthem in unison.

Dancing is so much more than just grooming on the dance floor to your favourite tunes not only does it train the brain and body motor skills but it also is an excellent exercise for the entire body. It helps to stay physically and mentally fit and boosts the self esteem.

Buttressing the importance of Dance in life, DPS Meerut organised a folk dance competition on 18^th December 2018 for the blooming buds of III and IV standard. The serene early morning hours in DPS Meerut echoed with traditional melodious beats and rhythm of the young buds. These tender feet’s mesmerised the arena with their grand performance. The great show brought forth the hidden young dancers of DPS Meerut.

The gaily clad children enjoyed the much awaited carnival, hosted by Delhi Public School, Meerut which finally unfolded on 15 December 2018. The carnival was inaugurated by the Mrs. Shashi Singh, Pro-Vice Chairperson, Delhi Public School, Meerut and Mrs. Savita Chadha, Principal, Delhi Public School, Meerut. The day was indeed a fun filled one with mouth full of eats, games, exciting prizes and above all a gala time with friends and dear ones.

The celebration offered a wide range of entertainment, creativity and art & craft to experience. Games stalls included Dancing Ball, Treasure Hunt, Throw the Dice, Buzz Wire Game, Lucky Number, Throw the Ring, Hit the Pyramid, Stringy Figure, Set up the chess, Feed the Sinchan, Blow the Ball, Dice & Win, Magical Cards, Balance Tic-Tac-Tee, Match the cards, Hit the Stump, Blow up the Glasses, Find the Marble, Float the Ball, Guessing the Ads, Bottle & the Ribbon, Guess the Song, Pick it up, Marbel the Marvels, Guess the Tag, Speak up the colour Names, Sika Giro, Fashion 2018, Unlock the lock, Coin Kare Tamasha, Save the Royal Family, The Maze Runner, Penguin Sledding, Cover the Spot, Try your Luck and many more. Besides this there was an array of mouth watering eateries beckoning the crowd. Burger Street and Dominos need special mention as they were the crowd pullers. To top it all was the latest foot tapping numbers played by the DJ stall where the students danced till they were out of their breath and amongst  the little ones most popular were the exciting and thrilling rides.

“This Annual Cultural Festivity is eagerly awaited not only by our children but also by us because the carnival proves to be a wonderful reunion with our old friends who visit here with their children.” said one of the parents.

The Principal, Mrs. Savita Chadha, spoke in high esteem of the endeavours of the staff and students in making this carnival a huge success. She said “Such events help children learn the importance of togetherness and belongingness”. “One reason why we organise carnival is that a carnival has lot of different elements that need to be in sync. Looking for creative and enthusiastic parents, recruiting volunteer leaders and managing food, games and logistics teach everyone coordination and dependability”. She further added.    

The carnival was really a memorable hit with a large number of students and parents which provided the school community with a fantastic opportunity to have fun, share the excitement with family and friends and to feel proud of the schools escalating performances.

On 11^th December 2018, Measles Rubella Vaccination drive for the students from classes Pre-Nursery to IX was organised by the Government of India in Delhi Public School, Meerut. Wherein, the students got themselves vaccinated the M.R. Injection for the contagious and fatal diseases: Khasra and Rubella. The parents were also seen accompanying their children and helped the state by providing their utmost support.

The Principal, Ms. Savita Chadha comprehended the hazardous situation that these diseases can lead our future generations into and thereby the drive was functioned in the school. She encouraged the students towards the vaccination initiative. She even motivated students with her words of power and strength.

With the motto ‘striving for success’ Delhi Public School , Meerut proclaimed the glory of the academic as well as sport winners in the meticulously organised scholar badge ceremony 2018 on 8th December ‘18.

The Tagore hall today witnessed undying thundering applauds from the pillars of support; the parents, as the chief guests Dr. Rahul Mittal (MBBS, MD) and Dr. Alka Rahul Mittal (MBBS, MD), eminent doctors of Meerut city graced the magnificent event.

Their presence overwhelmed each and every soul dwelling in the DPS Parivar. The ceremony was a new leaf added to the laurels of Delhi Public School, Meerut.

The awardees were felicitated by the guests on their tremendous hard work and perseverance exhibited throughout the academic year.

The glee and glinted faces of the award winners was totally worth watching as their smiles and dedication ignited the spirit of optimism and ‘striving for excellence’ even more concrete.

The students recited motivational poems both in English and Hindi which were lauded by the audience.

Moreover, they presented a soul rejoicing Sufi dance performance and an energetic and lively Punjabi act. Syntech club showcased their laboriously prepared presentation on the theme: ‘Every cloud has a silver lining’.

The Principal, Mrs Savita Chadha was extremely happy on the achievements of the dpsites and also encouraged them to stay grounded by not making success a one time show.

The guests were also blissful and whimsical on seeing the plethora of talents and events lined up by the students. For Delhi Public School, Meerut sky is the limit and horizon is the goal.

Two students from Delhi Public School, Meerut participated in CBSE National Taekwondo Championship 2018 organised by Satyawati Memorial Academy, Bijnor from 13^th to 18^th November 2018.

150 schools participated in the event hailing all over India. The number of participants was more than 800.

Dr. Manjeet Singh, Assistant Secretary (Sports), CBSE was the Chief Guest for the Herculean event  and Mr. Sanjay Sharma , Vice President Taekwondo Federation of India was the Guest of Honour.

Bandhvi Vats participated in below 59 kg category (U-17) and performed an incredible show eventually securing Gold Medal. Also, Mrinalini Vats participated in below 55 Kg category (U-14) and secured a Bronze Medal.

To everyone’s applaud DPS, Meerut won the overall Third Position in U-17 years category. The event was a magnificent one and was a continuous learning quest for the participants.

The Principal, Mrs. Savita Chadha was highly elated on the girl power. She welcomed them proudly with her head held high and wished for their continuous achievement.

On 19^th November 2018, District Athletic Association, Meerut hosted 1^stInter School District Athletic Meet -2018 held at M.P. Singh Sport Complex in Delhi Public School, Meerut.

Mr. Mukesh Singhal, (BJP Zila Adhyaksh, Meerut) graced the event by his presence. Mr. Atul Kumar Singh (Manager, DPS Meerut) and Mrs. Savita Chadha (Princpal, DPS Meerut) were the guests of honour for the event.

Over 600 students participated from a total of 60 schools from the district Meerut collectively from UP Board, CBSE Board and ICSE Board.

A team of 32 students from DPS Meerut belonging to different age groups namely U-12, U-14 and U-16 participated and brought laurels for the host school. Following is the list of Students:

 

The magnificent event proved to be the happiest day for DPS Meerut as the school turned out to be the overall winner of the Vinex Cup 2018 Championship with 07 Gold, 09 Silver and 06 Bronze Medals. The coaches Ms. Anshuli Chaurasia and Mr. Vivek Malik have always advised their students to be good at whatever they are asked to do.

The Principal, Mrs. Savita Chadha was head over heels in happiness when the result was announced. The participants,  the coaches and audience enjoyed the show thoroughly and also in a way got awarded for the numerous practice hours they have put in for the event to be successful. She congratulated everyone for such as impeccable event.

Roller Skating Federation of India (RSFI) Uttar Pradesh State organised the state level skating championship 2018 from 16^thto 18^th November 2018. The event took place at Noida Stadium, Gautam Buddh Nagar. The Event witnessed a colossal participation as 650 participants from 24 districts took actively part.

Aryan Pratap Singh from Delhi Public School, Meerut participated in Inline category (U-19) in Rink Race 500m, Rink Race 100m and Road Race 1500m. To everbody’s amazement he secured first position in all the three events he participated in. After three Gold Medals the triumph for Delhi Public School, Meerut did not cease.

Abhishek Arora, a fellow dpsites participated in U-19 Quads category in 1000m and 1500m Road Race securing Silver Medals in both the events.

These two boys not only fluttered the DPS flag but also backed their position in the National Games schedule to happen in Vishakhapatnam in the month of December’18. For both the boys it was an honourable moment when the guests Mr. G.S. Rathore and Mr. Naresh Sharma, President (RSFI) UP Sate himself felicitated as well as congratulated them. 

The Principal, Ms. Savita Chadha welcomed the merry boys with open arms. She also wished them and their coach more strength and power.

The DPS National Athletic Meet Boys (Open) - 2018 finally closed out, on 18th November 2018 after three days of amazing sporting actions. The final action in the grand Closing Ceremony included some amazing performers participants, singers and dancers.

Mr. Akhilesh Kumar , SSP Meerut was the Chief Guest for the Closing Ceremony. Dr. D.R. Saini,  Sports Director, The Delhi Public Society, was the Guest of Honour. Mr. Atul Kumar Singh, Manager, Delhi Public School, Meerut and trustee M.P Singh Foundation also graced the occasion with his benign presence.

The Principal Ms. Savita Chadha welcomed the Chief Guest Mr. Akhilesh Kumar with a bouquet and a sapling. Mr. Atul Singh welcomed him with a memento and a shawl.  In his formal address,Mr Akhilesh Kumar appreciated the organizational skills of the host School. He encouraged athletes to work out harder to enter the corridors of Olympics. He further advised children to come out of the world of fantasy and virtual life on mobiles and the internet.”The sports field help children have real friends not virtual” he further added.

Dr. D.R. Saini during his address educated everyone on values, hard work and the biggest bond that Delhi Public Schools share through National and International Meets. He talked about the origin of Olympic Games and the love of its originator, Baron Pierre de Coubertin for sports field.He enlightened the students about the equal importance of studies and sports.

The Principal during her address thanked all the principals, coaches, participants and her team for making the event happen. She also expressed her gratitude to DPS Society. She said “The experience of the national meet will build a tenacity in each of you to surpass the competitors”. “The winners must go back with the intent to translate their success instincts into strategies for a consistent performance next year” she further said.  

The School Coir presented a melodious song in the welcome of distinguished guests. The lazium and the contemporary dance earned huge appreciations. The special dance performance child labor and power of education; sufi and punjabi dances were really spell-binding. The army band played in the welcome of the guest was a treat both two ears and eyes.

The Best March Past Trophy was won by DPS Meerut but given to DPS Durg by the Host school principal . The Second Runners up Trophy was given to DPS Durg, the First Runners up to DPS Aligarh and Overall Championship Trophy was won by DPS Meerut.

The Trophy for best athlete was given to Vikrant Panchal from DPS, Faridabad.

The third day game produced memorable performances in the exhilarating sports. There were sporting triumphs that thrilled spectators watching the action of different matches on the grounds. In finals of Event - Boys 200m Run Gaurav Kumar (DPS, Aligarh) bagged Gold Medal, Vishwas (DPS, Sonepat) got Silver Medal and Prabudh Shankar Tiwari (DPS, NTPC Korba) won Bronze Medal.

In finals of Event – Boys 1500m Run Mandeep Siwach (DPS, Meerut) won Gold Medal, Anwar Ahmed Mirza (DPS, Durg) bagged Silver Medal and Rahul Yadav (DPS, Aligarh) won Bronze Medal.

In the finals of Event – Boys 4X400 Relay  DPS, Aligarh won Gold Medal, DPS Meerut bagged Silver Medal and DPS Faridabad won Bronze Medal.

In finals of Event 8 – Boys Shot Put AAdi Redhu (DPS, Durg) won Gold Medal, Siddarth Pratap Singh (DPS, Kalyanpur Kanpur) bagged Silver Medal and Kartikey Mishra (DPS, Azad Nagar) won Bronze Medal.

Mr. Akhilesh Kumar, Dr. D.R Saini , Mr. Atul Singh and Ms. Savita Chadha felicitated the winners of the events by giving away medals and certificates to them. Mr. Akhilesh  Kumar lowered the sports flag and announced the meet close. The Head Mistress , Ms. Sunita Johar proposed the vote of thanks.

All the distinguished guests paid their heartfelt tribute to Late. Shri M.P. Singh. The Silver Shiny Rolling Trophy- A Commemoration of Love, Concern and Care for Children-for the best all-round performance was given to DPS, Meeut with the prize money of Rs. 1, 21,000/- (One Lac Twenty One Thousand). The Prize money was given by  Mr. Atul Kumar Singh, Manager DPS Meerut and trustee M.P. Singh Foundation.

Delhi Public School lived up to its friendly reputation and proved to be a warm, generous and enthusiastic host.

On 17^th November 2018, the second day of the event, Delhi Public School set out well to deliver an outstanding athlete centered and Sport focused games. The bright shiny morning boosted the players to go the whole hog to deliver their best.

Mr. Ram Kumar IPS- IG Meerut Zone was the Chief Guest for the Medal Ceremony. The Principal Ms. Savita Chadha welcomed the Chief Guest with a bouquet, a sapling, a memento and a shawl.

The Chief Guest in his formal address congratulated all the winners. He advised everyone to stay away from sedentary life style sitting with mobile phones and laptops. He told those who couldn’t make it this time, not to lose their hearts and try better for the next time. He congratulated the school principal, Ms. Savita Chadha for hosting the event of such a huge magnitude successfully.

 The second day game produced memorable performances in the exhilarating sports. There were sporting triumphs that thrilled spectators watching the exhilarating action.

In the finals of Event - Boys 4X100m relay DPS, Meerut bagged Gold Medal, DPS, Ruby Park Kolkata won Silver Medal and DPS, NTPC Korba won Bronze Medal.

In the finals of Event - Boys 100m run Gaurav Kumar (DPS, Aligarh) bagged Gold Medal, Vishwas (DPS, Sonepat) won Silver Medal and Prabudh Shankar Tiwari  (DPS, NTPC Korba) got Bronze Medal.

 

 

In the finals of Event - Boys 400m run Vikrant Panchal (DPS, Faridabad) bagged Gold Medal, Onkar Basu (DPS, Ruby Park Kolkata) won Silver Medal and Rohan Singh (DPS, Aligarh) won Bronze Medal.

In the finals of Event - Boys Long Jump Jaideep Singh (DPS, Aligarh) won Gold Medal, Rohit Choudhary (DPS, Durg) bagged Silver Medal and Tikaram Soren (DPS, Nalco Nagar) got Bronze Medal.

In the finals of Event - Boys Discus Throw Digvijay Shishodia (DPS, NTPC Dadri) won Gold Medal, Siddarth Pratap Singh (DPS, Kalyanpur Kanpur) got Silver Medal and Kartikey Mishra (DPS, Azad Nagar) bagged Bronze Medal.

The Opening Ceremony of The DPS National Athletic Meet Boys (Open) -2018 was held at Delhi Public School, Meerut on 16^th November 2018. The ceremony showed a perfect combination of sports tradition with latest innovations. The Mega Event exhibited the pinnacle of national athletics in which 450 participants from 51 schools from the whole length and breadth of the country. 

 To grace this National Event, Mr. Mukesh Kumar, ADM Meerut was the Chief Guest for the Ceremony. The Principal Ms. Savita Chadha welcomed the Chief Guest with a Bouquet, a sapling, a memento and a shawl. Ms. Shashi Singh, Pro vice Chairperson Delhi Public School Meerut was the Guest of Honour. The Principal Welcomed the Guest of honour with a bouquet.

Mr. Mukesh Kumar during his formal address talked about present status of sports and imminent opportunities for youths. He appreciated the organizational skills of the management, Principal and the teachers of the Host School. He further acknowledged the players’ passion for sports as the teams from the farthest zone of the Country i.e. Sri Nagar also participated in this mega event. He congratulated the school principal for hosting such a large event under her leadership.

The Principal, Mrs. Savita Chadha during her address thanked all the parents and school authorities for their remarkable participation.“This tectonic shift is clearly visible in the manner in which gold medal tallies in the recent international games have indicated rather than quote the performance of Milkha Singhs, P.T Ushas, We would like you, students to etch in the Halls of fame” she said. She wished that our players should also  strive for the total renaissance in the manner in which Arjun, Bhim, Karan and their elks earned their Spurs. There after she blessed everyone for a wonderful sports.

The ceremony kicked off with the splendid march past by the students representing their schools followed by the release of pigeons and colorful balloons by all the distinguished guests. This tradition symbolizes freedom and height of efforts. After that Mr. Mukesh Kumar and all the other dignitaries present hoisted the sports flag and Mr. Mukesh Kumar announced the official start of the game. The March Past was loudly cheered by those who attended the ceremony. The performance by the Military Band and the mellow choir by the school band was terrific feast to the eyes. The attires of the dances looked as if the blue horizon was dancing with the snow covered beautiful earth amidst the stars of melody .The amazing dance performance was really heart moving and therefore earned thunderous of cheers and claps from everyone. Effervescent performances given by the vivacious sportsmen throbbed the grounds receiving lot of appreciation for their superbly breathtaking performances. The sweet sweat shed by the players enthralled everyone.

In the event 800m Run (Boys) Vikrant Panchal from DPS Faridabad bagged Gold Medal,   Ajay Sood From DPS Meerut bagged Silver Medal and Shreshksr Saini  from DPS Ranipur  bagged Bronze Medal.

 In High Jump (Boys) Priyanshu Gaurav from DPS Bokaro Steel City won the Gold Medal, Sumit Panchal from DPS Sonepat won Silver Medal and Tikaram Soren from DPS Nalco Nagar won the Bronze Medal.

This National Athletic Meet is being live telecast on our school website - www.dpsmeerut.in.  

 In the evening a cultural programme was presented by the students and the teachers of the host school for all the valued guests from 51 schools. The programme not only entertained the players but also helped them revive their energies for the performances on the next day.

Dr. D.R Saini, Director, The Delhi Public School Society and National Teacher Awardee talked about disciplinary frame an protocol of DPS Sports Events.

Mr. Atul Kumar Singh, the Manager, Delhi Public School, Meerut said, “ The Sports Meet will last for three days i.e. 16^th to 18^th November 2018. Mr. Anil Dhingra, District Magistrate, Meerut will be the Chief Guest for Opening Ceremony. Dr. D.R Saini, Director, The Delhi Public School Society will be the Guest of Honour for the Opening Ceremony on 16^th November 2018.

Mr. Ram Kumar, Inspector General of Police, Meerut Zone will preside over the Medal Ceremony as the Chief Guest on the second day i.e. 17^th November 2018, and Dr. D. R Saini, Director, Delhi Public School Society will be the Guest of Honour.

Mr. V.K Shunglu, Chairman, Delhi Public School Society will Grace the Closing Ceremony as the Chief Guest, Mr. Akhilesh Kumar, S.S.P. Meerut will be the Guest for Honour of the Closing Ceremony and Dr. D. R Saini, Director, Delhi Public School Society will be the Special Guest for the Closing Ceremony on 18^th November 2018.

EDM (Electronic Distance Measurer), Photo-finish & Fully Automatic timing system are the ultra modern devices to check the timings and distance accuracy of the athletic events, will be used. These devices are approved by the Athletic Federation of India.

The serene early morning hours in Delhi Public School, Meerut echoed with enchanting chants of Gayatri Mantra students from classes III to XII gathered for a special assembly on the occasion of the birth anniversary of our beloved chairman, Late Mr. M.P. Singh

Mr. M.P. Singh always had a strong urge to o something for the welfare of the society, especially the weaker section he was an engineer turned educator, utmost humanitarian who always seeked pleasure in the company of children. He was a visionary who predicted the future of Delhi Public School, Meerut back in 2002 after placing the first brick in the field of education.

The students recited poem, shared news and performed dance highlighting the exemplary character traits of the beloved soul. Tiny Tots along with Principal, Ms. Savita Chadha and Pro-Vice Chairperson, Ms. Shashi Singh paid tribute to the deceased visionary by offering flower petals on his photograph.

The Principal, Ms. Savita Chadha Shared her time and work experience with him. She also advised students to inculcate and imbibe his astonishing qualities in their respective lines.

Diwali, also known as the festival of lights, is traditionally celebrated by lighting Diyas and Candles, praying to Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha and meeting friends and family to exchange Diwali greetings and gifts.

The corridors and classrooms of Delhi Public School, Meerut also glowed with Diyas and Lanterns on 06^th Nov 2018. The Rangoli with eco-friendly colours and flowers added perfect setting to the festivity. Children of junior section came in traditional dresses.

The teachers told the children about the importance of the festival and how to celebrate a safe and eco friendly Diwali. They were also told to conquer the evil by celebrating Green Diwali this year. Children were made to learn small Diwali Songs and Arties. They also showcased beautiful traditional dances. It was a memorable and amazing celebration of the festival for the children.  

Principal, Ms. Savita Chadha, motivated the students to celebrate a cracker free Diwali and gave wishes to them and their families.

5th November 2018 was a memorable day for Delhi Public School, Meerut Parivar as the school merrily hosted Mr. Walter, Director of World’s Renowned International Business School, Brillantmont situated in the ‘Land of Alps, Watches and Chocolates’ in Lausanne, Switzerland.

The school has a rich culture and heritage. The school is over 136 years old. Rajasthan’s Maharani Gayatri Devi is one of the notable alumni of the school. Being half an hour away from Geneva, it gives high scope for picturesque and aesthetic beauty.

He came along with an Indian representative Ms. Jayashree to conduct a workshop for both parents and students for students aspiring to study abroad.

The presence of the parents in the workshop was exemplary and they took an active part by comprehending the motif of the workshop. For them it was a platform where they satiate their queries.

The guests informed the attendees regarding a two weeks summer language course program that Brillantmont is organising in the next summer where in students will learn in depth knowledge of three languages namely French, German and English. Along with academics there would be leisure and excursion activities planned for the students.

The workshop was highly educational and informative. It was an honour for us as an institution since amongst hundreds of school in the ‘Sports City’, Meerut, the duo chose Delhi Public School, Meerut as their workshop location.

The Principal, Ms. Savita Chadha was elated with this opportunity and she advised the parents and students to comprehend the importance of an exposure of this stature. She further told students to get their registrations done at the earliest because education today is not only about going to school and studying, it is about widening one’s knowledge and awakening interests.

 “Adventure travel feeds your dreams and builds confidence.”

Adventure gives us pleasant memories, which we often bring back to the forefront of our minds for reminiscing. This means that our journeys “Marinate” a while, a especially valuable exercise these days when we are all so perpetually busy. Placing yourself in situations where things don’t always go as planned-such as on an adventure trip-helps you to cope with the uncertainties in life. In order to pre pare children for different life skills, Delhi Public School, Meerut in collaboration with Rocksport, organised an adventure trip at Ranthambore, Rajasthan for the students of classes VIII and IX from 28^th  to 31^st October’18.

35 Students accompanied by 03 teachers were the part of this trip. On 27^th October’18, at 08 O’clock in the night, the students gathered in the school premises with bags and baggages with full excitement. The Principal, Ms. Savita Chadha addressed all the students and told them to be disciplined and learn and enjoy every moment of the trip.  The bus left for the trip at 09 O’clock.

Next day, early morning, the children were welcomed by the Rocksport personals at Ranthambore. They had their lunch and started with the activities like zip lining, rock climbing and many more. Next day they were taken for Jungle Safari at Ranthambore which is the home for the lions. The night safari also added spice to the trip. Children were told about the history of Ranthambore and they enjoyed the Rajasthani dance during the bonfire activity. On the last and the final day, the winners of different activities were given prizes and made to dance on the D.J. Floor. At 09 O’clock the students boarded the bus with lot of memories of the trip to cherish forever. Early in the morning children reached Delhi Public School, Meerut where they were welcomed by the waiting parents to the listen to the experiences of their children.

From 25^th to 28^th October 2018, student of Delhi Public School, Meerut took part in The DPS Football Boys (Open) Tournament- 2018 along with 20 other DPS Teams. It was a league-cum-knockout type tournament where 4 pools were formed.

In the group stages, out of 4 matches that Delhi Public School, Meerut played, they won three setting the standards fairly high. With defeating Muzaffarnagar by 10-0 the team secured 2^nd position in their respective pool. Reaching to the quarterfinals, DPS Meerut played against DPS Bareilly and secured position in the Semi-Final.

In the Semi-Final, DPS Meerut team geared themselves harder as they would be playing against the home team and eventually their hard work paid off when the final score came out in light. DPS Meerut won with an extravagant score of 3-1.

The final was played between DPS Meerut and DPS Eldeco Lucknow and needless to say it was the best and the most exciting match of the entire league. The suspense and excitement was incessantly built during the match as neither of the team was able to secure a goal tile 70 minutes.

At the 87^th minute, DPS Eldeco Lucknow grabbed the opportunity and scored a goal. Even after playing dominantly our school’s team was unable to break Eldecos defenses.

For the result, DPS Meerut emerged as the 1^st Runner-Ups and Utkarsh Rana, the goalkeeper was awarded the award for the Best Goalkeeper of the Series. A team cannot be a team without its leader or the coach. The students hard work and performance was praiseworthy but so was their coach’s Mr. Vivek Malik. He has always inspired his team & time and again boosted up their morale.

The Principal, Ms. Savita Chadha was elated with the result and congratulated the team as well as their coach for such a proud performance. She also guided the students towards the importance of team and unity.

To commemorate the birth anniversary of the “Iron Man of India”, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, the students of class VII- B presented the special assembly and loud roars of patriotism echoed in the premises of Delhi Public School, Meerut.

The students highlighted the importance of Unity and how patriotism and humanitarianism resides above all caste, creed, religion or sex. The students through a small and well informed skit tried explaining the DPSites about the importance of staying united not only in the time of need but otherwise too.

The Headmistress, Ms. Sunita Johar took the stage and congratulated the students for carrying forward such emotive and empathetic assembly. She also shared with the audience about the life history and ideologies of the veteran freedom fighter. How he made India what it is today.

Students were made aware about the unveiling ceremony of the world’s Tallest Statue (Statue of Unity) of the height of 182m, which will be carried forward by the Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi in the princely state of Gujarat on 31^st October’18. The statue is referred to as the statue of unity aiming to promote unity amongst the citizens. The students also pledged to stay true and loyal to each other as citizens of India.

The Principal, Ms. Savita Chadha congratulates the students for enlightening the audiences with the man’s life. She also shared with the students several of Sardar Ji ‘a life stories. Eventually students sang the National Anthem with pride and glint in their eyes.

Pink is the most soothing and soft colour among all the colours. It is a treat to the eyes when one looks at anything pink. On 29^th October 2018 “Pink Colour Day” was celebrated at Delhi Public School, Meerut and Daurala Branch. A display of all the things, pink in colour was done in the activity room. Children played with pink balls in the ball pool. The children also came in pink dresses and the girls with pink bands looked like little angels. The entire day was pink for everyone.

The Principal, Ms. Savita Chadha also disseminated the importance of teaching the concept of colours it helps in differentiating one colour to the other.

Morning assemblies are a routine in Delhi Public School, Meerut. Falling prey to this routine, students of VI-D presented their morning assembly on the topic “Perseverance”. Success is not a onetime thing. It is a journey including a lot of determination, hard work and perseverance.

Success is tasteless without perseverance. One should have the fire ignited in their hearts in order to be successful. Class VI-D presented this thought very clearly using news, speeches and poem as their aids. They perform an incident from the veteran and genius scientist Thomas Elva Edison which performed portrayed how he became what he has been known for today.

The Principal, Ms. Savita Chadha congratulated the students and explained to the gathering the importance of morning assemblies. Moreover, she shared the importance of perseverance for a student. The assembly ended with students singing the National Anthem in harmony.

Khushboo Agarwal of class VIII-C from Delhi Public School, Meerut recently participated in 01^st MAI National Majorette-Sport and Dance Championship 2018, the event was organised by Majorette Sport and Dance Association of Goa-MSDAG.

The event held from 13^th & 14^th October’18 and she participated in Solo dance category. Her passion towards paid off well as she secured God Medal in the Championship. Her victory is a matter of honour for both, her parents as well as her school, Delhi Public School, Meerut.

Creativity is nothing but an extraordinary and incredible outcome of a good imagination put on work. Every block of stone has a statue in it and it is the task of the sculpture to discover it and likewise every child is creative and just need an opportunity mixed with proper guidance to enhance it. Keeping the same in mind, school conducts various extracurricular activities to provide students with such opportunities. One such opportunity was created in Delhi Public School, Meerut in the form of Diya Decoration Activity held in school premises on 25^th October’2018. It was conducted for III to V and each and every student exhibited tremendous level of participation. Students were asked to decorate a Diya using eco friendly material only.  Students of classes III to V participated in it with full zeal and zest and showed all their creativity. They used colours, beads, paper and other decorative material to do that. 

All their efforts proved fruitful in the form of beautiful Diyas. Principal Ms. Savita Chaddha herself observed the activity and appreciated their efforts. She also put emphasis on hard work and strong determination in life.

“Run for Fun”

Running is good for the body because it strengthens our bones and muscles. Running also helps to become mentally active. This means we are able to retain information and be active learners whether in school or at work place. Keeping in view the same, some fun races were organised for Pre-Primary section of Delhi Public School, Meerut and Daurala Branch on 25^th October 2018.

The children were taken to the sports field in the school, where the tracks were ready with all the necessary equipments required. The children were divided into groups of 5 and were made to run on the whistle. They ran with their full energy and enjoyed many races like Hoopla Race, Balancing the Ball, Frog Race, Pass the Ring Race etc. The children clapped at their loudest for their friends and one could see the enthusiasm and eagerness to have been the part of the races. 3 winners were selected from each class and they were given appreciation handouts.

Principal Ms. Savita Chadha motivated the children and said these kind races not only inculcate sportsmanship amongst the children but also help to make them physically and mentally strong. The day ended with the loud applaud.

Just like breakfast is an energizer for your body, morning assemblies in Delhi Public School, Meerut is an energizer for your soul. In order to feed the soul with positivity and good thoughts, class VI-B presented their Morning Assembly on 25^th October 2018 on the topic “Sankalp Se Siddhi Tak”.

In their assembly they enumerated the importance of hard work, decisiveness and determination in order to be successful. They used thoughts, news, shlokas and also a French poem to make the thoughts bold and edgy.

Just because something is difficulty doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try it instead we should try it harder. The results or the chances of failures and success will be unknown unless we’ll try it. These thoughts, instead these positive thoughts were the key points that little ones echoed in the school premises.

The principal, Mrs. Savita Chadha, congratulated the students for putting up some a positive assembly and advised them never to consider themselves as failures. Instead she encouraged them to try harder for all the hard rocks of their lives. The morning assembly concluded with everybody singing the national anthem in harmony.

On 24^th October’18, students of class VI-A presented their morning assembly on the topic “Save the Girl Child”.

Delhi Public School, Meerut started their day with the thought as empathetic as saving the girl child. Their assembly comprised of speeches poem, news and a dance performance. All these things together highlighted the importance of girl child.

They explained how girls are paramount in order to ensure the functioning of the society.

How saving the girl child is necessary in order to save the existence of human race was their main concern.

The Principal, Savita Chadha was amused and happy on seeing students concern towards such a social cause. She encouraged students towards education because education is such a sword which eradicates all the ills and evils of our society. The Assembly dispersed after singing the national anthem.

The Director of  Nehru Planetarium, New Delhi; Dr. Rathnasree Nandivada visited Delhi Public School, Meerut on 23^rd October’18 along with her team to enlighten the students of the school about some of the astonishing details of astronomy. She was given a floral welcome by the Principal, Ms. Savita Chadha and also gratitude was expressed towards the organising committee, Ms. Anuradha and Mr. Rajan of the Collins’ learning India.

Her shear knowledge of the stars, planets and the positioning of the celestial elements left everyone in amazement. Students from classes 6-11 attended Dr. Rathnasree’s workshop.

The workshop was highly an interactive one when students of class VI, VII and VIII learnt to create spectrometer to saw the spectrum of light where as students of class IX, X and XI tried anticipating the size of the sun using the telescopes and other geometrical elements for calculation.

For a person of as high stature as Dr. Rathnasree, the mere sight of her made Delhi Public School, Meerut privileged and honoured. She and her team took special care of all the questions and queries raised by the budding scientists.

Towards the end of the workshop, the Principal, Ms. Savita Chadha bid them adieu and advised the students to think out of the box besides what is taught to them in the class.

Students involved in extracurricular activities are more likely to become leaders, more willing to explore social, political and career interests. They gain experience in different areas that enhances their knowledge. Keeping the same idea in mind, students of class VI to VIII of Delhi Public School, Meerut took part in “Rangoli & Bandhanwar Making Activity” held in school premises on 22^nd October’2018.

Groups were formed for the activity and each and every student exhibited tremendous levels of participation skills. Congruent efforts of students led to a great show.  The students of class VI independently prepared mesmerising floral Rangolis. They used flower petals, coloured rice, flour and eco friendly colours in the course. Classes VII and VIII participated in Bandharwar Making Competition reflecting their imaginations by aesthetic talents and creativity.

The affinity and charm was observed through their remarkable charismatic designs. Class VI-B secured the First Position followed by VI-A and VI-D securing Second and Third position respectively. Principal, Ms. Savita Chadha herself observed the activity and appreciated their efforts. She also told the children the importance of discipline in team work.

On 12 October 2018, Delhi Public School, Meerut organised an English language lab training program for the English department of the school. The workshop aimed at making the teachers familiarize about the well equipped English language lab of Delhi Public School, Meerut.

Mr. Lesley from Wordsworth English language lab accompanied us in carrying out the workshop as the trainer. He informed the teachers about the software that has been used in the teaching process and also explained each and every trivial thing required to use the software error free. He provided the teachers all the required ‘know how’ to ensure smooth functioning of the process.

Mr. Lesley elucidated the correct pronunciations that ought to be used through presentations. He also discussed phonetics and syllables along with other grammar rules. 

The training process was highly informative and not even a single minute was wasted. The trainer taught the teachers with the best of his ability and the time frame allotted to him. These training are a must to hone one’s skills.

These skills and availability of English language lab will not be helpful to the children only on the academic front but also it will benefit them in their overall development.

The management and the ever supporting principal Ms. Savita Chadha has given this platform of not only training English teachers as well as the students by providing the well structured English language lab at their disposal.

On 11^th October’18, Delhi Public School, Meerut organised SPIC MACAY 2018. It was an initiative to rejuvenate and connect the young students to their history.

Regional dance forms have been vanishing at a very fast pace due to the advent of technology and modernization.

The school was priviledged to have traditional art practitioner, daughter and disciple of stalwart Odissi Maestro Guru Hare Krishna Behera as the part of the ‘DPS Parivar’.

The event commenced by lighting the auspicious long followed by floral welcome by the Principal. Each and every guests and artists were given token of gratitude by the Principal. The event came to full bloom when Ms. Kavita Dwibedi herself performed in front of the audiences.

The proved through her actions why she is considered not only as an exempolary performer but also an unmatched ‘Abhinetri’. The performance was undoubtedly the highlight of the day. Audiences were left gaping in wonder and amazement.

Towards, the end, the Principal, Mrs. Savita Chadha thanked Ms. Kavita Dwibedi and her team for taking out time and entertaining us by their performances.

She also showed her gratitude towards Mr. H.M. Rout, Principal, Dewan Public School, Meerut and Spic Macay representative for sparing their valuable time and joining us in this splendid afternoon.

“ALL WORK AND NO PLAY MAKES JACK A DULL BOY.”

Academics and sports always work hand in hand for the overall development of a child. Keeping the same in view, a one day Adventure Camp for juniors was organised at Delhi Public School, Meerut on 10^th October 2018 by Rocksport Company.

The camp started with an enlightening addressal by the Principal, Ms. Savita Chadha to boost the participants’ morale. She motivated them to take active part in the camp and perform the activities carefully in a disciplined manner. She also told them to follow all the safety measures given by the instructors.

Students from classes Pre-Nursery to II of both DPS Meerut and Daurala Branch exuberated great enthusiasm and zeal under the guidance of trained instructors and the teachers. It included many adventure sports like Commando Net, Spout-Climbing, Tunnel Crawl, Zip line, Burma Bridge, Magical Maze, and Cross Fire etc. Students were also informed about different kinds of tents and  trained them how to fix and their uses were also told. Throughout the adventure camp, the students faced many challenges, full of thrills and artificial dangers.

The environment was so energetic that all the students were completely engrossed and did all the events confidently. It was a joyful and enriching experience for all the students. Such camps help the students to face hardships in life and prepare themselves to face any challenge.

On the 9^th October 2018, students of Delhi Public School, Meerut of classes 3^rd to 05^th went to a day adventure camp along with their teachers to “Oh! Max, the Indoor Wonderland at Greater Noida”. It is a theme park with nature as it’s main highlight. The park is stretched in a vast area giving ample space for carrying out an array of unique and interesting activities. 

The students in the park were given a chance to explore the Chocolate Factory, Titanic, Tutankhamen Spot and various others in the ‘Oh! Explore’ category.  Titanic was a spot which received maximum admiration. The kids were also encouraged for performing Oh! Adventure Category activities such as Amusement Park and Trampoline Park. The kids also relished the Oh! Taj Components. The day was totally sealed with fun and excitement. 

The Principal, Ms. Savita Chadha was happy on seeing the merry students returning with wide smiles in the school premises in the evening. Later happily they went to their respective home along with their parents.

The students of Delhi Public School, Meerut went on a Day Adventure Camp to 28 Barracks, Kundli on 07^th October’18.

For the students of class 6^th and 7^th, it was the most rejuvenating gift given by the school as this trip was just after their three weeks long midterm examination. It was organised by Rocksport. They planned the complete day for students with fun filled activities and palatable dishes.

The students assembled in the school and left the premises with zest and anxiety at 07:00am. The Principal, Ms. Savita Chadha waved them goodbye and advised them to enjoy their day.

In the camp, students took part in activities such as Potters, Burma Bridge, Commando Net, Zipline, Tractor Ride, Gorilla Cave, Tug of War, Hamster Wheel and many others.

The students completely enjoyed the adrenaline rush that these activities infused in them. Breakfast and snacks were provided to the children at the venue only.

The campers were left agaped when they were told about the D.J. preparation.  They had their best time at the dance floor.

They ended the day with a bag full of pleasant memories made, shared and savoured. They returned the campus in the evening where they were welcomed back by the Principal and parents. Later they went to their respective homes smilingly.

Salwan Public School, Trans Delhi Signature City, Loni, Ghaziabad organised CBSE Cluster XIX Athletic Meet (Boys & Girls) -2018 from 5^th to 7^th October 2018 where many of the students from Delhi Public School, Meerut participated and secured recognizable positions. The following table includes all the details of the participants and their respective sports:-

All the above participants performed as per the best of their abilities. They truly are benchmarking examples of hardwork and efforts. Their victories are examples for other DPSites. On the basis of these performances Delhi Public School, Meerut scored the 1^st rank in Meerut City and 8^th rank out of 355 other participating schools. 

The students not only bagged medals but also were lauded for qualifying the CBSE National Athletics Competition. The athletics competition is scheduled from 12^th to 18^th November’18 at PSSEMR School, Karnataka.

The Principal, Ms. Savita Chadha congratulated the students and their coaches Ms. Anshuli Chaurasia and Mr. Vivek Malik to prepare the students so well that they left no stone unturned and effortlessly strived towards success.

“Help Make This World a fairer Place for all Animals”

World Animal Day is celebrated all over the world on 4^th October
to raise the status of animals in order to improve welfare standards around the globe. Building the celebration of World Animal Day unites the animal welfare movement, mobilising it into a global force to make the world a better place for all animals.  It's celebrated in different ways in every country, irrespective of nationality, religion, faith or political ideology. 

 

Through increased awareness and education we can create a world where animals are always recognised as sentient beings and full regard is always paid to their welfare.

 

To arouse the emotions amongst the little kids, this day was celebrated at Delhi Public School, Meerut and Daurala Branch with great zest and zeal. Teachers of Junior Section narrated many stories using animal puppets to the children to make them understand for being kind to the animals.

They were made to write slogans like Don’t Tease Animals,  Don’t Hurt Them etc. Many other activities were conducted in different grades which were thoroughly fun learning for the children.

The CBSE North Zone-I Taekwondo championship held at The Millenium School, Meerut from 29^th September’18 to 03^rd October’18. The event undoubtedly proved to be a splendid start to the month of October for Delhi Public School, Meerut.

Three students namely Bandhvi Vats, Mirnalini Vats and Lakshay Vats not only participated in the above mentioned event but also filled the heart of DPSites with equal pride and honour, after being qualifying for CBSE National taekwondo championship organised at Satyawati Memorial Academy, Bijnor. The event is schedule from 13^th to 18^th November’18.

Not only their coaches Ms. Anshuli Chaurasia and Mr. Vivek Malik applauded their efforts and hardwork but also the Principal, Ms. Savita Chadha congratulated the coach player duo for putting such a worthy show as per the best of their ability and capability.

Each one at DPS is waiting for them to return the school premises with National Level Medals rung around their necks.

To mark the birthday of our great freedom fighter, nation builder and pious soul, Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated on 01^st October’18 in the premises of Delhi Public School, Meerut and Daurala Branch.

The children gave tribute to this great personality by offering flowers at his image. Different stories about him were told to the children by the class teachers along with the great deeds done for the welfare for our country. The day ended with a thought in everybody’s mind that cleanliness is next to godliness and service to mankind is the first step to words reaching it.

Principal Ms. Savita Chadha also told them to follow his footsteps and become the good citizens of India.

Mrs. Ayogika Shukla, HOD Hindi,  from Delhi Public School, Meerut attended the CBSE Capacity Building Programme for class X (Subject-Hindi) on 29^th & 30^th September 2018 at St. John Public School, Meerut Cant. The attendees there were informed about the skills of various sections of literature and grammar namely unseen passage, unseen poetry, grammar and writing too. 

The resource person Mr. Akhilesh Kaushik and Dr. Siksha gave their invaluable views and discussed the need to inculcate creativity in modern day teaching methodologies. 

The capacity building workshop focused on finding ways to make the difficult topics like Blooms Taxonomy more interesting for both the teacher and student. 

Undoubtedly it was an interactive as well as informative session for Mrs. Ayogika Shukla. She was able to horn her skills and she further thanked the Principal, Mrs. Savita Chadha for giving her this chance. It is the principal’s view of always giving their students as well as teachers enough scope for learning and acquiring knowledge because learning for her is a never ending process.

A fit mind is all possible when one has a fit body. Students at Delhi Public School, Meerut have never restricted themselves to merely academics. The coaches Ms. Anshuli Chaurasia and Mr. Vivek Malik have always advised their students to be good at whatever they are asked to do.

Following their coaches’ advices Dpsites have created milestones in the past and haven’t ceased till how.

On the 22^nd and 23^rd September 2018 students participated in Krida Bharti Inter School Athletics Meet-2018 held at Subharti University, Meerut.

From a vast range of events like 100m, 200m, 600m, 4X100m relay, shot put and many others Dpsites won 14 Gold Medals, 03 Silvers and 03 Bronze Medals claiming to be the all round achiever of the event. The results will leave in wonder. The following table is a detailed description of the winners.

The result left Ms. Savita Chadha’s heart, Principal, Delhi Public School, Meerut is bliss. She heartily congratulated the students for their mind boggling performances and encouraged them to keep up the good work.

Yet another reason for Delhi Public School, Meerut to celebrate and be all glee. 

The 52^nd U.P. State Annual Junior Athletics Championship -2018 held at K.D. Singh Babu Stadium, Lucknow from 20^th to 23^rd September 2018. The championship was organised by U.P. Athletics Association.

The competition witnessed a footpall of approximately 1000 – 1200 participants. Amid the 1200 participants Ajay Sood of standard IX, showed his sheer spirit of hardwork by bagging the Silver Medal in 600m under -14 category. It is a moment for utter pride and glory for Delhi Public School, Meerut. Even the coaches Mr. Vivek Malik and Ms. Anshuli Chaurasia are going gaga over the achievement of their athlete.

The Principal Ms. Savita Chadha congratulated Ajay for his impressive performance and advised him to keep working harder in his respective sport.

To initiate the development of an adequate childhood, establishment of different relationships with child’s world and building of child’s identity to become self dependent, Delhi Public School, Meerut organized an educational trip to Century Amusement City, “Kidzania” at Noida for students of Classes I and II on 26^th September’18. Children left the school premises by 07:00 am under the guidance of their respective teachers and the Principal, Ms. Savita Chadha waved to the students and wished them good luck to enjoy the trip.

The excitement began when a warm welcome was given by the team of “KIDZANIA”. There were ample of activities such as extinguishing the fire, car driving, bank transaction, passport making, court hearing, acting, modelling etc. The students performed different activities under the guidance of experts, educators & professionals in various fields. They were thrilled to see Police Station, Amity University, Ambulance, Fire Brigade, Airplane, Shiamak Dance Academy, Bollywood etc. This inspired, educated & empowered the kids to understand & manage their world better. The children learnt to earn currency and spent it on their own.

They were over excited to make Frooti, Chocos, Kinderjoy etc and relished eating them. They also rocked the Dance Floor. The children were provided with a hygienic and delicious lunch after the activities.

It was an enthusiastic, extraordinary and amazing venture for all. Everybody learnt a lot through the evident experiences of this trip.

The children returned to the school with a lot of memories and a heartful wish to visit again. They were cheerfully welcomed by their parents.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (SBA) or Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) is a Nation-Wide Campaign in India for the period 2014 to 2019 that aims to clean up the streets, roads and infrastructure of India's cities, smaller towns, and rural areas. The campaign's official name is in Hindi and translates to Clean India Mission in English. The objectives of Swachh Bharat include eliminating open defecation through the construction of household-owned and community-owned toilets and establishing an accountable mechanism of monitoring toilet use. Run by the Government of India, the mission aims to achieve an Open-Defecation Free (ODF) India by 2 October 2019, the 150^th anniversary of the birth of Mahatma Gandhi. On 24^th September 2018, the little cherubs of Delhi Public School, Meerut and Durala Branch took the responsibility to fulfill this dream of our respected Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi. They walked a rally in the school, spoke the slogans at their top of the voice .They were made to pick up the litter and put in the bins. Teachers instructed them to segregate the Biodegradable and non Biodegrade garbage also. The Principal, Ms. Savita Chadha appreciated their efforts and told them about this Campain.

Messy play is important for young children, giving them endless ways to develop and learn. All types of play are essential for children’s development and early learning. Play helps children to develop and improve their gross and fine motor skills, co-ordination and concentration. Also how to work cooperatively and collaboratively, use all their senses to discover and explore their environment, and develop their imagination, creative thinking and ability to problem solving and experiment with solutions.

Children respond better to learning experiences when more of their senses are involved. Sensory experiences are wonderful opportunities for learning and they are so much fun! 

Another Scaffolding was done to the concept building at Delhi Public School, Meerut and Durala Branch on investigating Wet and Dry! Children were made to dip their hands in bowls of water colours and then wiped the hands to dry. They made their handkerchiefs wet in water and dried them in the sun. It was a fun learning, exploration, investigation and starting of attaching the early starters to science experiments.

Accountancy Department of Delhi Public School, Meerut under the guidance of their mentor Dr. Upendra Bhardwaj prepared a Working Model of a Trial Balance. The model is a real life problem solver. As we all know, accountancy standards rely on some basic rules called the golden rules of accountancy. 

 

This is a working project based on TRIAL BALANCE. There are some certain golden rules of Accounting which are taken care of while carrying out the calculations. It simply means every head of business transaction have its certain place either Debit or Credit, like assets are always debited and liabilities are always credited. 

With the help of this equipment students can easily check whether the entry is carried out correctly or not.

 

The principal, Ms. Savita Chadha encouraged the mentor for igniting light of curiousity in the young minds. She encouraged the students for carrying out the project so efficiently.

GANPATI BAPPA MORIYAAA!!! Ganesha Chaturthi is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Shri Ganesha, the symbol of wisdom and remover of obstacles. This festival is also known as Ganesh Utsav which means festival of Shri Ganesha. On 13^th September 2018, Pre Primary section of Delhi Public School, Meerut celebrated Ganeshotsav with lots of fun and frolic. On this auspicious day, the children of pre primary section drew colourful Flower Rangoli with the help of the teachers. A traditional lamp lighting and aarthi was also done and children showcased dances, songs and skits depicting the importance of Lord Vinayaka.Various activities were conducted like making Ganesha with clay and organic colours and drawing and painting pictures of this festival. The Principal, Ms. Savita Chadha said that we should not forget the culture, tradition and importance of celebrating festivals and told the children to not to pollute the rivers by drowning the idols in them. The entire school was filled with the positive vibes with entering of Ganesha.

Prepositions and postpositions are a class of words that we have been taught the day we landed up in kindergarten. Starting with 'about' and going on down the list, we knew the words but often didn't know exactly why these words mattered. Teaching prepositions can be a fun and can be taught in play way method. When kids get busy and interact with the content, they are likely to learn the why and what. This makes the learning an enjoyable preposition.

An initiative to teach the same to the tiny tots was taken on 11^th September’18. The students went to the well-equipped activity room at Delhi Public School, Meerut and Daurala Branch where toys, shelves and games were used by the teachers to teach prepositions. They learnt the words like in, on, through, under etc by self experiencing with the teaching aids. They grabbed some coloured pencils and followed the prepositions, filled sentences to create colourful scenes.

On 10^th September’18, students of class X-E came forward to present their morning assembly and memorise each one of us about the Golden Period our lives.

No wonder, how aged we may be, how old we have turned, one can never forget the time spent in his/her school.

The presenters put forward all the memories that made us agitated then but make us giggle now. Be it waking up at 05:00 am or standing at the bus stop or meeting friends, eating Tiffin in periods, standing outside in punishment or any other. These are just the some of the few things that each one of us has definitely done in our respective school lives.

The students recited a poem in order to equalize the overflowing emotions among the audiences. The students through a play and a song made sure that everyone in the audience sheds a tear of joy.

The Principal Mrs. Savita Chadha congratulated the students and encouraged them to enjoy their school life as much as possible since these are the days they will be cherishing forever.

For us this season could be the rainy season where we are drenching ourselves in just water but for Parnika Bhalla, a student of Delhi Public School , Meerut ; class X-C, it is not only water she is drenching herself in; it’s raining medals for her.  Among 1500 participants, she participated in 12^th Maharaja Dr. Karni Singh Memorial Shooting Competition held at Jaipur, Rajasthan. The event was organised between 12^th July and 16^th July 2018. Due to exhibiting extraordinary performance at the event she was able to secure 01 Silver Medal in 25mt. Air Pistol under the category of Individual Junior below the age of 21.

She also participated in 17^th Uttarakhand State Shooting Championship with 1000 other participants. The event held at Dehradun from 17^th August to 24^th August 2018 where she bagged 09 Gold Medals, 01 Silver Medal and 3 Bronze Medals.

Undoubtedly, all the achievements that she is receiving is a sincere result of her dedication and perseverance along with her coach’s Mr. Vivek Malik’s mentorship.

The Principal Miss Savita Chaddha was spell bounded by the girl’s victory congratulated the duo for igniting the flames of hard work and encouragement within the other students. She also appalled her with her heartiest good wishes. Moreover, she advised her to keep up the practice so that winning becomes one of her habit.

With this thought students of class X-D ventured into their morning assembly on the topic: “Education System around the world”.

Needless to say how important is education for all of us and how differently people study all over the globe. The students in their assembly used speech, music and thought as their aids to spread awareness about the different education systems all over the globe to their audiences.

They highlighted the idea of how education is the passport to the future and how a country’s fame and productivity depends upon the quality of education they provide to their citizens.  Students provided the audience with the knowledge of education system of their neighbour countries too.

The Principal Mrs. Savita Chadha appreciates the students for presenting such an informative and useful assembly. She also discussed with the students why a judicious education system is significant for a country.

Orange and Purple are two extremes when it comes to colours. So the Purple Day was celebrated in Pre-Primary section of Delhi Public School, Meerut and Durala Branch on 7^th September’18 to make the little kids aware about the colour and how it adds beauty to things around us. Children were made aware of this colour by using different themes like Vegetables, Fruits & other innovative ideas. They were involved in exciting activities like Palm Printing, Potato & Bitter gourd dabbing, Colouring objects, playing with toys etc. Tiny toddlers brought different things purple in colour and ‘Show and Tell” Activity was also conducted where in they spoke few lines about things which they had brought. It was a fun & frolic day for these tiny tots.

The Principal Ms. Savita Chadha motivated the students and enhanced their knowledge about various colours.

The season of mourning has not ceased yet. Students of class X-C, today presented their Morning Assembly as a tribute to one of our endearly loved former Prime Minister whom our Nation lost just a few weeks back, Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

He was not only a Political Leader but also a Social Worker, a Poet and an Intellectual. Under his prime ministership our nation achieved utmost heights of development and pride.

The students commenced their assembly with one of Shri Ji’s self composed poem. Shri Atal Ji’s mantra of leading a life will encourage the students to become great citizens. The audience was enthralled by all the virtues that the presenters put forward.

Students sung a song translation which again was written by Shri Atal Ji himself. The speech highlighted Shri Atal Ji’s ideas of an ideal human and an exemplary citizen.

The assembly put forward some of the rare gems of Shri Atal Ji’s refine taste in art and poetry. It included some of his virtues and some of his most popular poems of all time.

After the incessant poetry, the dance performance made the audience all merry and glee.

The Principal Ms. Savita Chadha shared the Nation’s long suppressed grief with the dear students. She advised and encouraged students to consider Mr. Atal Ji’s life as an example of how a TRUE INDIAN or a TRUE CITIZEN SHOULD DWELL. Moreover, she congratulated the students for presenting such an informative and encouraging assembly.

Today the students of class X-B carried forward the tradition of conducting a morning assembly and they chose “The Seven Ages” by William Shakespeare as their topic.

In the course of their assembly they explained how age is not barrier; it is just a limitation that one puts on his/her mind.

Moreover, through the speech they explained how during a single life a human plays different roles of being a son sometimes followed by a father in years to follow and others.

The assembly was just a reminder: “How life is like a journey, one comes and goes while playing his part” further, using the above mentioned theme, they definitely evoked the spirit of “The father of English Drama”, William Shakespeare.

The assembly was full of music, thoughts and speeches. Musical performance was just the cherry on the top.

The Principal Ms. Savita Chadha too congratulated the students for their utmost efforts and also encouraged them to live their life to the fullest. She exclaimed how important it is to play whatever role we are asked to play by the Almighty with sheer admiration and responsibility.

5^th September 2018, Delhi Public School, Meerut celebrated the auspicious occasion of Teachers’ Day. A special assembly was conducted which began with the enchanting of the Gayatri Mantra. Everyone felt a wave of piousness while the Principal Ms. Savita Chadha offered flowers to Late Shri Radha Krishnan, whose birthday is celebrated as Teachers Day.

Teachers were welcomed by the students of class XI in a traditional style and were given cards with compliments as a mark of respect. It was then followed by a variety of entertaining programmes by the students of class XI. They unveiled the enviable talents of singers and dancers.

The Principal Ms. Savita Chadha  lent the occasion , the equisite warmth with her gracious presence. She spoke in high esteem of the staff for taking DPS Meerut to heights and also congratulated the students for their commendable presentation in the assembly. The celebrations though ended but left its memories in the hearts of all to cherish forever.

The Celebration successfully plead an ideology upon the students to stay away from comforts and try to be in association with the people of vision.

ALL INDIA CHAMPIONSHIP NATIONAL GAMES - 2018

An athlete is never born; he is created and yielded with hard work, enormous numbers of hours are put in his/her practice. He is not born by chance but is created with a greater purpose. One such athlete was noticed in the All India Championship National Games – 2018. The mini “Milka Singh” Aditya Aggarwal of class XII-D participated in the above mentioned event organised by Olympiad State and Games Association, Haryana. He was trained by his dedicated coaches Mr. Mivek Malik and Ms. Ansuli Chaurasia. The event catered to more than 350 participants from different schools at Malikpur, Sonipat, Haryana. The event took place from 31^st August’18 to 02^nd September’18.

When someone is dedicated enough then even nature cannot stop them from winning, just like Aditya’s race witnessed. He ran like flash covering 100M in mere 11:25 second and secured the Gold Medal. Undoubtedly, he is the knight in shining armour for all dpsites.

Principal Ms. Savita Chadha congratulated him on this grand success. She extended her special thanks to the parents and his coaches for being such a source of inspiration for his triumph.

Nothing can be compared to the feeling of being awarded for your hard work and for putting your heart and soul into your passion. Recently, on 19^th August’18 Dpsites went to Karan Public School for an Inter School Taekwondo Competition.

Students from all over the city came together to live the spirit of great performance and winning. Approximately 90 students were there including sub junior and junior ones. The competition was conducted by Mr. Jhah. The following students won the fights. Lakshay Vats of VII B received a gold medal for his amazing performance. Mrinalini Vats is VII B too won a gold medal. In the junior section Kritika Vats III A secured a gold medal. All these students gave up their comfort zones and made themselves capable of this recognition.

The principal Miss Savita Chadha was elated by the students’ achievements and she congratulated them and advised them to continue their practice because it is only practice that will bring them to perfection and eventually success. These students are indeed the torchbearers of a secure and self reliant India which we are dreaming for.

Students of X A today presented their morning assembly on the topic: “Importance of sports in a person’s life”.

Due to the technical extravaganza humans nowadays prefer to play cricket on their tabs rather than getting soaked by dirt and mud in their playground.

Students together put forward the thought fittingly as to how important sports are for a human in order to maintain his physical Health. They enumerated on the topic through speeches both by the students and their class teacher, thought and songs. They also balanced the art quotient by performing a skit as well as a dance.

The Principal Ms. Savita Chadha praised the students for their efficient topic selection and also encouraged them to actively take part in sports.

Several cute Kanhas and Radhas came down to Delhi Public School Meerut & Daurala Branch, as classes from Pre-Nursery to II celebrated Shri Krishna Janmashtami today i.e. 01^st September’18.

The event took place in the Tagore Hall. The fun filled event colourfully clad children consisted of Tableaus depicting the life of Krishna, scintillating dance performances by little Gopiyas and a fancy dress show.

The event became super exciting with the dance performance by the students of class I and II on the song “Natkhat Yamuna Ke Tat Par”. It appeared as if D.P.S. had turned into Gokul for a short while where Lord Krishna is performing his leelas with Rada, Maa Yashoda, Sudama and Gopiyas.

The Principal Ms. Savita Chadha lauded the students for their beautiful efforts. The programme ended with the pushpanjali to Lord Shri Krishna.

Students from Delhi Public School, Meerut participated in the Competition “Bharat Ko Jano”, organized by Bharat Vikas Parishad on 01 September 2018. It was an initiative to make students aware about the contribution and sacrifices made by great Indian personalities for the progress and development of the nation and to know more about their country.

The competition was organised for classes V to X, who showcased their active participation and enthusiasm. All of them attempted the objective type question paper with sincerely and focus.

Principal Ms. Savita Chadha encouraged the students and appreciated them for this great initiative to unveil the vivid culture and heritage of India.

Keeping alive the tradition of remembering the almighty before commencing our daily chores, students of IX-E today, presented the morning assembly on the ‘Missile Man of India’ the ‘people’s president‘, effectionately called Kalam Chacha by children. Yes you guessed it right he is Dr.  A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.

Their assembly was full of virtues and words of wisdom that the man himself imparted. Bob Marley rightly said, “The greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively.”

Undoubtedly the former scientist encouraged and inspired people from all parts of lives through his life. His life in itself is a motivating tale for all of us.

While enlightening the students about Dr. Kalam, students exhibited an amazing semi classical dance performance, poem along with a musical performance by their class choir.

The Principal Mrs. Savita Chadha took the opportunity and congratulated the students for successfully presenting such a well informed assembly. She also advised the students to take motivation from Dr. kalam’s life and practice some of his virtues in their personal lives because undoubtedly his life has been a benchmark.

Seeing the mothers cooking food in the kitchen, the little children are always curious to try to make something to eat for themselves. So, to quench their eagerness a ‘Sandwich Making Activity’ was held for tiny tots of Delhi Public School, Meerut and Daurala Branch on 30^th August’18 i.e. Thursday. Children brought required ingredients to make delicious sandwiches such as bread, cheese slices, tomatoes, cucumbers, tomato ketchup etc. With the instructions given by the teachers, they made sandwiches of different shapes and sizes. They learnt some new words like spread, sprinkle, slice, sachet etc. They were also told to help their mothers in the kitchen and were advised not to play with knives and forks.  This activity helped them to be more independent.

Today the students of IX-D together presented their morning assembly on the topic “Humanity”. The students enlightened the morning through the Morning Prayer, thoughts, speech, song by their class choir and also a dance.

The students cited the examples of the philanthropist Mother Teresa narrating how she spent her whole life in helping needy and poor people. The Children sought tremendous inspiration from such a great soul and learnt that we should give the world the best we can. The assembly concluded with the thought of “Being Human” and how and why it is significant?

Principal Mrs. Savita Chadha congratulated the students for presenting a wonderful assembly and for choosing a relevant topic as it is really important for each one of us to be humane.

Knowledge and strength when combine together create wonders. The little depsites of Delhi Public School, Meerut showcased their talents in the field of sports and knowledge wherein Kavyansh Vats (class I) brought laurels to the school by grabbing Silver Medal in Taekwondo Championship held on 27^th August 2018 at Saheed-E-Azam Bhagat Singh Inter School. On the other hand Vedang Mudgal of the same class bagged 1^st Runner up position and Gold Medal in the Abacus exam held last month at UCMAS and he also won Gold Medal in Summer Roller Skating Competition 2018 on 28^th June 2018 at Karan Public School, Meerut.

Principal Ms. Savita Chadha appreciated the students for their marvelous performance and blessed them to reach far more heights in the future.

Education is the right of a human and it has an immense power to transform. It is the cornerstones of freedom, democracy and sustainable development.

With this incredible thought students of class IX-C commenced their morning assembly today. Their topic was “Human Freedom”. The students highlighted the topic with speeches, prayer, thoughts, poem and song.

They highlighted how important it is to have a free and liberal thinking, how important it is to express our thoughts vividly and lead them into action in our daily lives. Freedom is a human’s fundamental right and deprivation of the same is nothing less than a punishment.

 Students also put forward the need to exercise your freedom judiciously. On seeing the students discussing so endearingly on the topic Principal Mrs. Savita Chadha congratulated and praised the students for such a splendid morning assembly. She too showered the pearls of wisdom and nuggets of knowledge on the students.

Today students of class IX-B presented their morning assembly on the most unique and emotional topic “The Glory of Motherhood”. Mothers undoubtedly are an indispensible element or chord in a family without who, it is next to impossible to run the daily errands. The students presented the ideas in the most effective ways through prayer, songs, poetry and speech. Their musical act was absolutely a delight for the eyes. The Principal Ms. Savita Chadha praised the students for putting up such an emotional and heartwarming show. The assembly ended on good note: Motherhood being a combination of little moments that the almighty weaves together with grace, redemption, laughters, tears and most of all love.

Raksha Bandhan is a special occasion to celebrate the bond between brothers and sisters and is symbolized by the tying of a holy thread. The auspicious day of Raksha Bandhan was celebrated at Delhi public school Meerut and Durala Branch on 27^th August’18 by organizing a Rakhi Making Competition for classes I to III. The students of Pre-Nursery to Prep also joined this celebration, which was aimed at strengthening the bond of love and to instil the virtues of love and harmony among the young, growing kids. All the children participated with great zeal and zest. Everyone saw a number of creative and colourful Rakhis being made by the students. The Rakhis that were made were beautifully adorner with beads, colourful threads, peacock plumes which could showcase the great talents of the small children.

It also displayed the fusion of modern and traditional styles. Teachers discussed & reiterated the importance of this festival amongst the children by telling stories.

Principal Mrs. Savita Chadha also appreciated the children and said that   celebration of such festivals in schools is necessary as children today are deprived of true spirit of festivals and the school is a platform to teach students about our traditions.

Music is beneficial for children as it not only develops their aesthetic sense, but is also the key to creativity. it is one of the most beautiful human experience and plays an important role in the education of a child by providing him/her an opportunity of self expression.

A Patriotic Song Competition was organised on 24^th August’18 to expose our children to music, along with enhancing their language and presentation skills.

The Activity Room of Delhi Public School, Meerut was filled with children brimming with enthusiasm to showcase their talent. The students prepared well for the competition and a wide range of songs & poems were presented evoking a sense of patriotism in everyone present there.

It was a great show and the entire class II was involved in cheering, encouraging, lauding and appreciating the performers.

Principal Mrs. Savita Chadha gave the motivational speech and inspired the students to be the best citizens of the country.

The results were as follows:

Aradhya Vishesh of class II-B and Anahita of Class II-C stood at First Position while Manya Rathi, Agrim Jain, Divija and Dhruv Gupta grabbed the Second Position and Aryaveer Bhasin of class II-A & Shourya Malik of class II-B stood at Third Position.

The students of class VIII-D together presented their morning assembly on the most blissfully celebrated festival JANMASHTMI. The students enlightened the audience about the festival of JANMASHTMI through a poem, skit and a song. Art is always considered parallel to God.  So, class VIII-D made it certain that their morning assembly evoked the feelings of devotion.

A simple kitchen activity that introduces a child to food preparation and cooking.

 Who doesn’t like potatoes? They are especially a great favourite of children. As part of the Potato Peeling activity held at Delhi Public School and Durala Branch on 23-08-2018, our little chefs from classes Pre-Nursery to Prep got excited to get their hands on peeling boiled potatoes. They were given a demo by their teachers first in which they learnt how to peel boiled potatoes. Then they mashed the potatoes also. The basic concept of this activity was to make the children self-reliant in doing small kitchen activities and develop their fine motor skills. They picked up new vocabulary words like peel, mash etc.

From children strumming on cardboard guitars to observing what happens when a paper plate of rice is placed on top of a loud speaker, teaching sound lends itself to a wide range of fun classroom activities. But as well as being a pleasure to teach, the topic – which includes learning how sound is made and how it travels – is relevant to the science curriculum. On 21^st August 2018, Bang-Bang Activity was organised for the students of classes Pre-Nursery to Prep of Delhi Public School, Meerut and Daurala Branch, to get habituated about sound. In this activity, children were taken to the music room where the music teachers played different musical instruments disseminating different sounds of high and low pitch. They were made to close their eyes and recognise the sounds. Even in the classrooms, teachers made the students listen to the sounds of birds, animals and other things. Spoons and utensils were also used as a hands on experience. This activity helped the children to learn that high volume could be harmful to ears and a source of distraction. Students could understand that sound is caused by vibration. As a follow-up activity children were asked to make different sounds such as whistling, clapping and singing. Another key teaching point, covered in this activity was to make them aware that vibrations from sound sources requires a medium, such as air, to travel through. Students experienced how sound travels through solids by tapping on the table and listening, keeping their ears on the table.  They were surprised to learn that sound travels faster through a solid than through air and why a noise made in the distance sounds quieter than a noise made close by.

As a homework activity, students were told to explore many uses of sound.  They were given the examples of enjoyable sounds or noises used in an emergency situation. It was a fun learning experience for the children.

Falling prey to the morning tradition students of VIII-C together presented their morning assembly on the topic “Save Rivers”. The students highlighted the importance of rivers and also why there is a need to protect them.

Students presented their innovative thoughts and ideas through poem, speech on ‘Save Rivers’ and song. Rivers are an important water resource and that is what students main focus was on.

The assembly was followed by Principal Ms. Savita Chadha’s heart warming and encouraging words.

Salute the Nation on this Auspicious day
Delhi Public School Meerut celebrated Independence Day with great
enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. All the students and teachers gathered in
the Assembly Ground. A scintillating display by students of classes I and II
where they stood to represent the peninsular outline of our great Mother
India as it appears geographically on a map .This breathtaking sight
evoked a patriotic spirit amongst the whole DPS Meerut fraternity.
The Tricolor was unfurled by the following students Ananya Yadav of I A,
Mishika of I C , Shubransh of III A , Adhiraj Singh of IV A , Anika of IV B
and Anushka Gupta of VIII A accompanied by the Principal Ms.Savita
Chadha and the Headmistress Ms. Sunita Johar.
All the students and teachers saluted the flag and sang the National
Anthem in unison. The cultural programme began with patriotic songs and
poems.Tiny tots were very exuberance and excitement to sing songs on
the stage with zest and zeal to commemorate the event in a festive
mood.The teachers and students then moved to Tagore Hall for a special
assembly conducted by class 8 th students. The students presented
patriotic songs poems and speeches to mark the occasion.Class VIII
students presented an impressive and emotive dramatic rendition of a
musical skit which evoked a strong Nationalistic spirit and realisation of
the sacrifices that were made by our heroes who have made this day a
reality.
The programme conclude with closing address by the principal .The
Principal Ms. Savita Chadha said that the freedom struggle was hard
fought by our heroes who left us this legacy and bestowed the much
cherished freedom upon us ,hence should never be taken for granted.She
also added that we must remember the sacrifices of our freedom fighters
and martyrs who helped us in attaining and preserving this freedom. She
praised the students for their patriotic spirit and reminded them of Mahatma
Gandhi’s Quote “ Be the change that you want to see in the world ”
The ceremony concluded with The National Anthem. As a mark of love
the sweets were distributed to each and every member of DPS Meerut
family.
