AN ODE TO PERSEVERANCE

SHRI M.P. SINGH JI,

(FOUNDING FATHER OF M. P. SINGH FOUNDATION)

"Every great institution is the lengthened shadow of a single man. His character determines the character of the organization"
Shri M.P. Singh was born on the 1st of May, 1947 in village Partapur in Meerut District of Uttar Pradesh in a middle-class agricultural family. After completing his elementary education from his native village, Shri M.P. Singh pursued his graduation in Mechanical Engineering from Kurukshetra University. He was a F.I.E. and Chartered Engineer. Shri M.P Singh always had a strong urge to do something for the welfare of the society, especially, the weaker sections. Shri M.P. Singh put up his first small scale unit at Meerut. Later, he became the Chairman, Meerut District, Cooperative Bank in 1978. In 1983, he set up a medium scale unit in Dehradun to manufacture cement and later became the President of Federation of Mini Cement Plants of India. Thereafter, he became a member of the Productivity Council of India. Then, listening to his inner voice, Mr. Singh donated land to 'Sophia School' in the village Achrondu, near his village to provide education to the deprived girl children.
Going along with his instincts to do something for the upliftment of the farmers, Mr. Singh started a large-scale unit for sugar manufacturing in Moradabad in 1994, which caters to the need of thousands of farmers of that area. M.P. Singh foundation is a registered charitable trust. It is a non-profit trust, to promote, establish, run, develop and manage institutions and organizations in various fields beneficial to the community without any discrimination of caste, color and creed. Having begun his journey in the education sector in 2002 Shri M P SINGH had been a strong pillar of support for DPS MEERUT. His proficiency and invaluable support towards the day-to-day operations, administration and expansion of the institution has helped in taking DPS MEERUT to greater heights of success.
In 2002, M.P. Singh Foundation established Delhi Public School, Meerut under the aegis of the Delhi Public School Society, which has two branches now; A) Delhi Public School, Baghpat road, B) Delhi Public School, Daurala. Delhi Public School Daurala has been stepping the ladder of success since 2018. Throughout his associated journey of 14 years with DPS MEERUT, Shri M P SINGH always dedicatedly contributed towards the development and functioning of the administrative arenas at different levels. Furthering his resolve to spread quality education, Mr. Singh established Delhi Public School Dehradun in 2008, Kalagaon, Sahastradhara Road, Dehradun. The school is reaching out to the community not only of Dehradun but also Rishikesh & Mussoorie.
One more masterpiece of excellence following the footprints of Mr. Singh, Shashi Madan Public School has been started at Chandausi, Sambhal in 2023 with an aim of sensitising the young minds towards present day social condition and encourage them to be instrumental in the change required. These schools under the M P Singh Foundation work relentlessly with a mission to create an atmosphere of purposeful endeavour so that they learn to take pride in their achievements.
M P Singh Foundation believes in loving what we do and doing what we all love; whether its academic achievement, athletic discipline, community connection or collaborative projects. Chairing a great Institution requires an analytical mind, a knack for human relations and an infinite capacity to work, which for Shri M P SINGH always acted as a driving force for achieving all the goals set for the Institution which he executed with extreme passion and finesse.
For him, being a part of the Education sector does not only include aiming for Academic excellence of students but also unleashing and enhancing their dynamic personalities. He had a strong vision of promoting new age education that provides a stimulating learning environment for children as well as gives the appropriate exposure for turning them into future flag bearers of this nation.
